Question 1

I've got an Asus 560 Ti GPU which has mini-HDMI and dual-link DVI. GPU specs say D-Sub Max Resolution of 2560x1600 and DVI Max Resolution 2048x1536.

My main use is coding/devops.

If I were to get this monitor, am I going to be looking for different/better GPU?

Yes, you will need to find a GPU with a Display port adapter in order to support the full resolution of this monitor.

At the low end, it looks like an AMD R7 250E, or the Nvidia GTX 750 will support this monitor. But I would suggest purchasing something more powerful than these if you plan on doing any gaming or other graphics intensive activities.

I heard that this monitor has a buzzing sound. Is it that noticeable?

If there is a buzzing sound, I've never heard it. I have two of them on the same machine and have never heard any sort of buzzing sound.

does ths come with the screen splitter software? say for 4 different sessions at once?

The packaging comes with a disc which is probably on it.  I downloaded it on the LG site and installed.  There are several preset screen splits or you can customize your own splits.

Can this monitor be used with a pc and a indicia gtx970 or gtx960 video card?

Not owning one of those cards, I found one on Newegg that has plenty of DisplayPort and HDMI outputs.

Then yes, it should. The monitor takes DisplayPort and HDMI as inputs. The DisplayPort will let you have a higher refresh rate (60Hz) vs HDMI (30Hz), but that's just a limitation of the DisplayPort and HDMI standards.

Would yall recommend this for someone looking for a monitor purely for Movies and not gaming?

Honestly no. I mean the aspect ratio is so amazing for movies shot in 2.39:1 (most), but the resolution doesn't really match any formats so there's a bunch of interpolation. I'm not saying it looks bad, but it's not optimized for it. I personally bought it and enjoy it for games and productivity like excel worksheets.

Question 1: Does this monitor tilt and pivot on the original stand?
Question 2: Can I get max resolution from a mac mini mid 2011 using this monitor? I see that both the mac mini and monitor have a thunderbolt connectors (not mini displayport) but I just want to double check. Thank you.

1: -5°(front)~15°(rear) Yes, but not very much. 
2: I can't give a definitive answer but I used a MBP 15" 2013 with an Nvidia card to drive it initially and it could get full resolution at 60Hz with tunderbolt (but not with HDMI) but it was a bit sluggish. Some mouse and ui lag. It looks like Mac Mini 2011 users have been able to get full res depending on which version of osx they're running. Google "Yosemite not supporting 3440x1440 resolution" for the relevant thread.

Is this model still has the back light bleed issue?

I'm not sure if there's been any changes since I bought mine a year ago, but honestly I didn't think the back light was much of a problem. This IPS monitor does have a bit of the IPS glow (where the backlight is noticeable at certain viewing angles, particularly on black screens, that is inherent with the technology), but honestly I never seem to notice it.  Especially since I'm never staring at a black screen.  I love this monitor and it's vibrant colors (and obviously the spacious form-factor). Two thumbs up.

Question 8

Is it 10bit? Is the LUTable calibratable or is it just the video card that will calibrate?  Is it a matte screen, low glare?

I want to use it for color proofing photo edits at "professional" grade accuracy. Would it be recommended?

I USE i1 DISPLAY PRO TO CALIBRATE MY MONITOR AND IT IS SPOT ON FOR ME AND MY CANON PRO-1 PRINTER. IT IS LUTABLE, BUT OF COURSE YOU HAVE TO HAVE A VERY GOOD VIDEO CARD(S) AS WELL... Does someone know how to tell NewEgg/LG what 4K is? I know it is a little ambiguous but this isn't even remotely close and it is a little insulting to call it 4K.

I dont know.  Email them?  The resolution is 3440x1440 as opposed to 3840x2160 for 4k monitors (or what is mostly commonly called 4k).  However, this is a 21:9 aspect monitor, so comapring it to 4k standards is moot since those are for 16:9 aspect ratio monitors, and this is (roughly) a 21:9 aspect ratio monitor.  You can, however, compae the DPI or ask what size of a 4k monitor would it take to get the same DPI.  The answer:  this monitor has the same DPI as a 40" 4k monitor, which would be 34.86" × 19.61".  This monitor is about 31.36" × 13.13".

Question 10

Did anyone notice discoloration at the bottom corners that spans about 4 inches in length and height in a triangle shape? I especially notice it on dark backgrounds (movies, wallpaper, applications). It goes away in "reading" mode.

back panel bleeding is a known issue, but 4 inches is pretty bad. I would exchange the monitor.
