Question 1

If I plug in two HDMI cables from one computer into this monitor can I do a split screen that will utilize the whole screen or will it only use 2 1/4 of the space?

If your graphic card supports dual HDMI (out) then hooking one HDMi to HDMI port 1 and the other to HDMI port 2 will allow you to view a split the screen that splits the screen into two halves (without any border between the two).  Each of those sections (left half, right half) will have 1920x2160 resolution.  Or you can select to have one or the other full screen.  It works well but it takes a bit of time--up to 10 seconds for the software to grab the signals if your changing back from a large 3840 x 2160 full screen to the split screens.  You can select which ever HDMI you want to view as a single screen.  The remote makes it easy to switch back and forth with the push of a button (but again, takes about 10 seconds to 'grab' those options when you make the switch).

I won't buy a monitor with a glossy screen.  Is it glossy or matte?

I would say in between.  I wouldn't recommend the monitor though I have a lot of trouble switching from input to input.  Many times I can't even boot up as none of the 5 input ports will be recognized by Windows despite having a very high upgraded graphics card.  And switching from single to dual display often ends up displaying nothing and the monitor turns itself off.  Waste of money.

Is see tilt adjustment, but does this monitor have height adjustment?

Sorry, no height adjustment. But it is a great monitor, I have one at home and one at work.

Question 4

I need to connect this to a Mac Mini via HDMI, so how is that going to work? Will I get 4k? Or do I need USB type C . I don't know what that is.

I am not a mac person however according to the internet: "Can Mac Mini do 4k?

Additionally this monitor has been flawless for the last 2 years. I love the real-estate for manipulating data in large spreadsheets. Colors may not be for photo, or video editing (professionals) but are perfect for normal movies / games. Windows 10 scales everything perfectly at 100%. Highly recommend this monitor.

How is it for PC gaming ?

Well. To use a monitor this large I sit aprox. 46 to 52 inches from the monitor. I do not heavy game, but medal of honor allied assault looks great at just over 1080p resolution. Ghost recon 1st one with expansions suddenly showed a 4k resolution (which looks and plays awsome). Ghost recon advanced war fighter 2 has native 4k res also which looks ....wow!. And plays well also. I notice no gbosting, no tearing, no issues at all. No regrets getting extra realestate. I have an AMD ryzen 7 1800x, paired with gTX 1070 graphics. (Way over kill). The only thing that has increased is the dizziness factor if I play fps games for to long. Only slightly more than the 30" I used before. I will see if I can post a video this weekend.

The base can be removed and it can then be mounted to a VESA mount that is 200mm x 200mm.

What is the actual measured 'Input Lag' of this monitor?

Not sure exactly but it felt and played really great while gaming at 4k, 7700k / 1080ti system. both with mouse and keyboard and an xbox one controller!

Can I hook this monitor to a single Surface and will I still have the ability to split the screen with different windows?

If I understand your question, YES you can mount monitor to a wall.  Page 16 of manual covers all the requirements for wall mount.  LG has number of free drivers for for this monitor that allow fixed or on demand screen settings.  Hardest thing for me was adjusting to how much information was visible on-screen and the response.

Question 10

When using Picture in Picture can I pick the source for each or are they fixed to HDMI 1 - 4?
IE: DISPLAY PORT and 2 HDMI to my computer and USB C to my laptop as four sources on screen.
Also, I assume the USB C only acts as one source, the Plug and Play USB C Drivers can certainly handle four monitors. Same with Display port daisy chain...
