Question 1

Hello, looking to buy an external floppy drive for those moments when I or someone I know needs use of it with the older formats. Wanted to know if this would work with newer OS's such as Windows 7/8/8.1/10/Ect.. Also, seeing people say you can only read, that is fine but does it allow moving of files to computer or another storage device such as USB/Disk/Internal Storage devices? Once moved are those files able to be modified, if not in what way can they not be?

This device will see light work loads but I need it to do the job and last, if a better one is on the market please advise, thanks!

I have this floppy drive and it both reads and writes my floppy disks. Yes you can use it with win 10,8,7 and XP. I have used it with all these windows versions. I have had no problem using this drive in any of the above systems. And once you copy the files from the floppy to your hard disk you can edit them if you have the right software. For that matter you can edit them on the floppy as well.

I'm not sure why people have had problems with this drive. this happens.
it works with 720 and 1440 floppy's. Some older disks seem to lose their formatting or the files get damaged. Floppy's have a limited lifetime. More so if not stored properly.

DOES THIS  FLOPPY DISK DRIVE,  ALSO  WRITE   INFO UNTO A  BLANK

Yes, it acts just like an internal floppy disk drive, you can read and write. I just tried it on my Windows 7 machine and it didn't seem to recognize the drive for some reason. Maybe I'm missing a driver. But, on my Windows 10 machine, it immediately recognized it as an a: drive and I could read/write to it. I did forget how small the storage is on these. But, it gives me the capability to read some of my old diskettes.

Question 3

I bought this for my Windows 10 desktop computer. When I plugged it into the USB port, Windows 10 says it does not recognize it. How do you get this to work with Windows 10? Thank you.

I can tell you it does work with Windows 10, I plugged mine in after a clean install and it worked right away.  I think the problem is with your USB port.  I've had problems with USB powered devices in the past not working with front panel connectors not delivering enough power to the device.  If you haven't tried yet, try plugging it into the back of the computer and see if that works.

Can I access this USB Floppy drive from Dos?

I purchased this for a customer - but it should show up as a drive letter.
From DOS, I assume you mean a command prompt.  It should work.

Will this read a 2.0MB 3.5" floppy diskette?

I don't know, I did not buy it for myself, it was ordered for a client of mine whom I was building a PC for!
Did you not read the earlier review I made?

I personally would never buy this for myself anyway, I would have it as either an internal floppy drive that uses a floppy ribbon cable or as an internal USB-powered floppy drive that uses only a USB 2.0 cable to connect power and data to the motherboard and vice-versa!
