The switch is designed to switch between two computers. If you are trying to use the same computer and switch between monitors, your video card should already be able to do this in most cases, in fact you can run two monitors at the same time with most video cards. You need to find your video or display settings under the control panel. If you cannot do this, then you simply need a video card that will do this. Hope this helps you.
