will this support a wireless keyboard and mouse?

I have a wireless mouse with a USB fob. It works fine with the Linksys KVM. Just plug the fob in where you would normally plug in the mouse. If you mean a bluetooth device, that probably would not work. However, I once bought a bluetooth USB fob. That might work, but the bluetooth fob I bought required drivers on my laptop, which the KVM would not be able to run.

How well does this work switching between Windows 7 and Ubuntu 14.04?

It's really going to depend on the drivers available for your video card and Ubuntu. It worked very well on my Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 configuration. In the Windows 8.1 system, I used VMware to run Linux and Windows machines with no problem, but a dedicated physical Ubuntu system is very build-dependent.

Worst-case scenario, you'll need to return the device if it doesn't work with your video card and drivers on the Ubuntu system.

Does this switch support multimedia keyboard and multi-button mouse (both wired usb)? (Having to return another switch because it only supports standard keyboard and mouse.)

I'm going to assume so, as I am currently using a wired Microsoft 4000 Ergonomic multimedia keyboard, and a Logitech Performance MX mouse on each of mine.
