No.  This is a KVM (keyboard/video/mouse) switch that allows for the connection of a single monitor, keyboard and mouse to several computers/servers and to be able to switch between them.  If you do not have enough USB connections on your computer to connect your scanner, printer, etc., then you're probably looking for a USB hub.

I can see there are 8 VGA ports on the back of the unit/switch, but only two USB ports.  How do you connect UBS cables from 8 USB ports from 8 different pcs or servers?

You may have to purchase the cables, I don't remember if a few came with it or not but the 8 VGA ports on the KVM are kinda a hybrid port that can route both video and USB.  So the cable you connect to that port has a 15 pin connecter(looks similar to VGA) on one end and the other end is split into a VGA and a USB (that's the end that goes to the PC or server)

No.  Because there are different lengths and configurations, be sure to order the ones you need.  My newer computers use usb+rgb older ones use ps2 connectors for keyboard and mouse.

It only switches the monitor. It uses DVI ports to connect to the KVM.

It uses a cable that has a VGA looking connector on one end and then the other end splits into both a blue VGA and then a USB.
