If i purchased 2 of these, does the router have the technology to turn one into an extender to increase range?

There is no setting in the router to make it a repeater/extender, so the easy answer is no.

You could probably mirror the SSID on both and make it work, but only if you really know what you're doing.

Does the power adapter works with 220V?

I have only used 110 to 120 volts, but the power adapter says input 100 -240 volts so I would say yes....

I am changing from 1.5 meg to Utopia 100 meg, soon to be upgraded to 250 meg. Another provider suggested I use a gigabit wireless router to obtain maximum speed from my internet provider. 
Which Linksys router would be compatible with my service and Windows 10?

I've had no issues, and max speeds on my 100mb service.  If you are using this wired, you will be able to run all the way to 1,000mb.  Your mileage may vary with wireless, but I'm getting a solid 90mb-100mb connection, depending on where I am in my house.

Is this compatible with me windows 8.1 operating system?  I just bought a wrt54gl from you guys and it will not work with my computer

This router should be compatible with your Windows 8.1 device.
f the problem is with the Wi-Fi, yu might try connecting to the device first with a network cable and making sure the wi-fi is set up the way you want it (entering 192.168.1.1 in the address bar of your web browser should get you to the device, if not try 192.168.0.1).  If this works, skip the next paragraph.
*warning* if you had some other settings in the following properties, it was likely for some reason. Document the settings (IP addresses, Gateway address and DNS Server address) before you change them.
If having a physical connection does not connect you to the device, the problem might be your IP settings.  On the task bar, right click the network connection task bar icon and choose "open network and sharing center".  Click "change network adapter settings" then right click your adapter and click "properties".  Double click "Internet Protocol Version 4" on the list.  Make sure the radio buttons are set to "Obtain IP address automatically" and "obtain DNS server address automatically".  Do this both for the wired connection adapter and for your wi-fi adapter on your computer. 
Now try to access the router again with a wired connection.  The default username is a blank line and default password is "admin".  Make sure your wi-fi settings are correct, note your SSID and pass phrase or code for your wi-fi network and try logging on.  Having both connections active will not break things, do not worry.

Does this product have wifi issues associated with a competitor product which has several reviews that indicate there are wifi issues? The other product reviews were all great except for the wifi. I am looking for a router that will be compativle with Utopia fiber optic cable 250 meg speed and Windows 10. Thanks.

This is a good router for the price - range is limited but works well to cover 2 floors. I suggest you read the specs and keep in mind the range you need to cover. Also think about how many devices will access the router at the same time .

Hi, I'm looking for a new router and I was wondering how far can the wifi signal travel? 100 feet? I live in a 2 story building including a basement, and my cousins in the basement has a weak signal, I'm currently using a very old Lynksys model, still a fan since it lasted 5 years and still working! I'll be waiting for you guys to get back at me, take care.

Is there a maximum range published for this product? I have a 900 sq foot area I need to cover and want to make sure this will do the trick.

We also found the E1200's wireless range to be very short, just about 175 feet at most, and the router should be used within 100 feet or less for its signal to be strong enough. Within that range, it passed our 48-hour stress test, in which it was set to transfer lots of data back and forth between clients. It didn't disconnect once.

I am poorly educated in what bands or letters of bandwidth or speed are needed to upgrade older G band only Linksys router. Unit has been great over the years needing only a few reboots from time to time in AM for reason unknown. Could have been cable company work on system. What I wish to do is upgrade to more powerful Linksys router, but do not know what specs to look for. I will be connecting from cable wide band modem system through the router via cat 5 to that now runs wireless converted desktop PC, two wireless laptops, wireless printer, and also add video and audio connection to add TV services from 3rd. device from router to one or two flat panel TV sets?  The G band only Linksys will probably not have to ability. also unit is starting to show signs of being overloaded since added wireless USB to desktop PC. I am not sure what type router I need. What bandwidth needed in router to transmit via Roku type devise to TV sets in my home and still provide wireless signal to computer equipment? Is it simply wired router with G/N/B/C? do I need single or dual band. Signal for TV will need to travel through up to three walls max but all units will be on same floor. Any help appreciated.

G bands are older and slower. Bare in mind that when you upgrade to wireless N or AC that if you wish to connect a slower G band device it will in tern slow everything else on the network down to G speeds as well. Upgrading your router to wireless N (assuming all of your devices support N) should be a pretty big improvement in throughput and it's best to set the router to Wireless N only during the configuration to insure performance. If you live in a townhouse/apartment complex then a dual band router (E.g. Linksys E4200) would be a better choice due to the 2.4ghz frequency being cluttered with everyone else running on the same frequency. This is where you see a real use for dual band 2.4 and 5ghz routers as long as the client device supports 5ghz as well otherwise it's pointless. You can connect your devices to the less cluttered 5ghz band, however if your devices such as your tv do not support 5ghz then it will have no effect because it cannot connect to the 5ghz band. Also 5ghz frequency do not have as good of a range as 2.4ghz as it gets somewhat lost passing through walls.The E1700 is a decent router but at the end of the day it's a basic single band wireless N Router that surprisingly has gigabit ports. If you are looking for a performance router that is current and supports better range + dual band consider looking at some of the new AC routers or at least the E4200. If price is a concern and you are not interested in the best possible performance but still an improvement to your current setup, then this is a good choice. Just remember to update the firmware. (I can't remember what it was for the E1700 I believe it comes with 1.0.0 out of the box and the new one is 1.1.0 or 1.2.0 something like that.)
