Does this router come with a cd to route other pc or laptops?

You only need to use the CD or the software to set it up once. You don't need to set it up on every single devices in your home/office.

Is there an update for the firmware or software for the router?

I don't recall if there was when I installed it , sorry I can't help. Wish I could help.
