I am getting comcast and bought a SB6121 Motorola Surfboard router. Will this work with that?

Yes, the two work perfectly together, and I can confirm that since it is the setup I am currently using.  In general, as long as the modem you are getting isn't a modem-router combo (which I highly suggest you avoid, anyway), they should work together just fine.  Even if the modem is a combo modem, there are ways to get them to work together (if/when the router portion on the modem burns out).

Is this router for cable internet?  Is is also docsis 3?

This is a router only!  If you have cable internet you will still need a modem.

Yes this router can be used with any internet service, but may not be the only device you need to connect to the internet.

Can I use the same encryption key from my old router ?

Yes, I actually set mine up to be identical to my previous modem to help my tech unsavvy parents.  Didn't have to change a thing on my other devices.  Linksys app makes it really easy, too.

What is the internet range feet with this?

i been in the IT business for 25 years and to be honest they depend on your environment, for expample if you had it on a beach it would be miles. so it depends on the structure of the building. If you had it in a room with brick wall you would be lucky to recieve it outside that room.

What are the dimensions of this product?

The size of the EA6350 is  9"W X 6.25"D X 1"Thick. No mtg holes on bottom. Nice Router, I also have the EA6300 it's a one inch larger all around. What I really like in that you can access both routers or just one from computer or app from Linksys. Sorry I went over board on a simple question.

Can you remove the external Antennas to be replaced? If so, How?

mine didn't have any external antennas even though it's the same specs and model number.
But I can tell you that last month it died and would not connect me to the internet.. the cable modem was connected to the yellow port. but it failed completely..
I don't know if anyone else have had this problem, so take this feedback with a grain of salt

Does this router have the built in Media Server? I'm looking to replace my E4200 (to increase the speed AND not lose my current capabilities)

Yes, it does. Any drive in the USB 3.0 port can be set to Folder Access, FTP or Media Server.

how fast is the internet?

First this is a router not the Internet. It provides a path to the Internet. You will still need to purchase Internet service from a local provider such as Comcast.

Second in theory this router can transfer 1 Gbps or 1,000,000,000 characters per second. However unless you have Google Fiber you will not get close to that as most Internet Service Provides in the US provide maximum speeds of about 150 Mbps.

The biggest benefit you will get out of this router is local traffic, IE computer to computer or computer to printer etc.

When I hook up the EA6350 it does not bring up the installation/setup menu, ie, the linksyssmartwifi protocol.  Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

If you type into the address bar, 192.168.1.1 hit enter, and it should come up. It's not automatic. Then you use access admin to get in. Hope this helps.

parental controls?  I need per device policy and schedules., IP addr preferably but can be MAC.

This answer is over 6 years late but yes, you can schedule per device on a 7 day schedule as well as block website access per device. You also get a handy pause button that allows you to immediately cut access off for that device and turn it back on when you see fit.
