Question 1

Does this router have a setting to allow access to the router's operating/maintenance system from a wired connection ONLY? In other words, typing 192.168.1.1 in a browser from a wireless connection gives you an Access Denied message, while typing it in a wired connection goes through. The previous Linksys routers I've had in the past had this function, but I'm not sure of the newer ones. Thanks!

Yes, this function (wired access only) is available within the router settings. I literally just saw this option while configuring my own ea7300.

Question 2

After I set it up  I was not able to connect my smart dvd player to the wifi to watch netflix and use my firestick. All other devices were connected. I worked on it for hours calling all the brands for advice and still nothing.  I switched out the dvd player and still had the same problem.  Any advice?

Ensure you are broadcasting in both 2.4ghz and 5ghz.  Also: make sure that your in mixed mode.   That is,  broadcasting in g/n/AC,  as the DVD player and fire stick likely only accept the wireless N specification

so this will basically speed up the service that you have with your internet provider already correct?

No.  That's impossible.  A router can not allow you faster speeds than what is provided by your isp.  However if you have a crap router, it may not allow you to make use of the full potential that your isp is providing.  So in that case, upgrading your router will give you faster internet, however never faster than what you're paying for from your isp.

What is the warranty period for this product? 1 year or 3 years?

New Egg shows on their page that the EA7300 has an "Industrial leading 3 year warranty". I ordered one based on that. The box I just received has a label right on the front that says 1-year warranty + 24/7 Tech Support.  Very misleading New Egg!!!
