Does this device have a "9th" speed which will allow it to just be ON, without being a nuisance distraction? Las Vegas is not needed in my computer case.

Yes it has a mode in which. It just glows. However, if you did not want flashy lights, then just omit the light all together. Its not a crucial component.

what are the connections that power this the pictures are not appearing for me?

It has a drive bay mount for the button, and off of that there is a dongle type plug in that supports 2 lights, and all it is powered by is a Molex 4 pin power connector. Hopefully all that is right it's been awhile since I looked at mine.

Does it have memory of what setting you set it to when you reboot, or do you have to cycle through all the options to get back to where you had it?

They have there own presets and button that will go on the back of your computer that will take up a card slot. It has a on/off switch and a red button that will switch between all the presets. The only thing that's attached to the computer is the power so restarting it wont make a difference. Shutting the computer off with kill the lights since the power supply with be shut done since the mother board has not told the PSU to turn on. Hope this helps. Its a cool light to give your computer a little bit of a pop.
