What are the dimensions of the cradle opening? I understand my iPad wouldn't have to sit in the cradle because the keyboard is wireless; still, it would be nice to be able to put it there without removing the case. With the (open) case it's 1/2" deep. Would it fit?

Accepted Answer

The slot will take a tablet up to about 0.40" thick. The slot is about 0.42" deep, 10.25" wide and is angled to tilt the tablet back. The slot is a separate soft material and it may be possible to remove some material to open up the slot.

where can I get product details?  What does the round selector on the top left of the keyboard do?  Can I switch between paired devices? It would be useful to be able to pair with several devices and select which one to talk with.  Is there a non-bluetooth wireless version of this available which could communicate with several computers (with several USB adapters)?  It would be useful to be able turn on or off the various devices from the keyboard, and an integrated touchpad and IR remote would be useful.  I'd also like a touch display that I could send applications to, possibly acting like a remote display, to be used to run a calculator, calendar, media controller, etc.  Of course, like always I'd expect good physical build quality from Logitech, and astonishingly poor software.  You guys have a marketing channel that's underutilized due to your poor quality software.

2) round knob is how you switch devices on the fly, aka laptop phone, pad, desktop... Up to 3 devices at once. 
3) This device is Bluetooth only, check manufacturer directly to learn about alternatives.
4) there is no IR or touchpad on this device.
5) this device makes it easy to cycle through icons on my phone or laptop, using button commands, also allows macros, but that's using third party software.
6) if you're looking for a place to rant about Logitech software, plenty of flame forums on the internet, if you want to ask people who have bought this product at Newegg, then you found the right place.

what are the dimensions of keyboard?

You can get the exact dimensions from Logitech.

It *feels* like a full sized keyboard. This is wonderful when you use it as a dock that you plop your phone or tablet into. It makes it of dubious value as a carry-it-with-you solutionh.

I ended up using the HTC Folio Keyboard for the Nexus 9 on a daily basis, but I was very happy using this as a dock at work that I plopped my tablet into. I prefer the portability of the HTC folio, but the Logitech was the better keyboard.

exactly what version of Bluetooth this is, 3.0 or 4.0? And for sure it doesn't need a USB receiver?

not sure which BT version but as long as your target device is BT compatible you're good to go. one thing i don't dig is caps lock has no light so if you're keying in a hidden password you can't tell if it's on. i'm used to it. i have 2 of these and compared to replacing the costly Apple keyboards when they get wet etc, these are fine.
