Yes and yes. I bought it two months ago and I am using Win8 (Although I hate Win 8 and keep thinking about going back to Win 7). It is working fine and I used it to record several clips.

I didn't have a measuring tape handy, but it appears to be about 4ft long, give or take.  [I'm 5'6 and it came up to my jaw.]

Please forgive, not very "tech savvy", I need to know if this takes still pictures?  Need it to take pictures, not video.

As long as you download a photo booth-like software, it should be able to access the camera and take pictures. Just find the right program.

How long is the USB cord? Would I need an extension? And does it have an external battery, a power cord, or is it USB powered?

It is USB powered.  The USB cord is not very long (I'd guess about three feet) but it goes from my tower to the top of my monitor without any trouble.

Sure does. We use 6 of them in our offices with Skype for regular communication between sites.

Is the quality of the video good? I want to know (specifically) if it is good enough for 1080p YouTube videos. The actual spot where the webcam will be in videos is pretty small, i just dont want the image it to look grainy, and fuzzy.

I use it on my Windows 10 desktop, so it should work on a Windows 10 laptop as long as you have a USB 2.0 connector.  I sometimes have driver problems with the built in microphone.  If I recall correctly, you need to load a generic audio driver but don't mess drivers unless you have to.

Will this work with an ASUS tablet?

ASUS tablet supports standard USB devices, however, the OS is Android, a Linux OS.  You will have to check the manufacturer if they have drivers for Android and snag the apk from Logitech if one is available, most likely no.

does this webcam have auto focus?

Yes. Its identical to cell phone cameras or have the same tech.
