What is a "wired" USB keyboard? It's wired or USB. Which is it?

It might sound strange to combined the phrase wired USB, since most USB devices have a wire, but there are some USB wi-fi deceives to.  So to answer the question this keyboard has a wire about a little under 5 feet with a USB connector at the end.

I recently bought this keyboard.  I assumed it would plug into the purple port where my keyboard plugs into now.  All my USB ports are in the front of the computer.  Is there an adapter I could buy to enable me to plug the keyboard in the back that would work with this keyboard?
