I would love this headset.  Does it come with a plug that can be plugged into the a telephone?

No, this has a USB connector.  You would need a female usb to 3.5mm male adapter to connect to a cell phone.  A handset for use with a landline phone (one usually plugged into the wall) typically uses a 2.5mm connector, so if that is what you are referring to, you would need a female USB to 2.5mm male adapter.

How long is the cord?

You have to be a bit careful with this one, each one i've gotten has worn on the cord or the USB plugin. It is really comfortable though and has nice sound quality and people can hear me nice and clear. Its good as long as you're good at keeping it in a safe place and not tugging cords too much.

It will work plug-and-play with any HP computer running Windows XP or newer.  If you mean matches aesthetically, it looks identical to the pictures.

Does this headset require any other hardware than a computer to run?

It's plug and play through USB, so any Windows or Mac OS should be able to automatically detect and install it as an audio device for input (microphone) and output (speakers), which any application or game will then be able to use.

My daughter wanted a set with a microphone built in worth good comfort and easy to use and that her friends will be able to hear her and not a lot of background noise.  Is this good for her? and it the quality good?

I would say overall it's a fairly solid headset for the price. In terms of comfort it can be slightly painful if she wears glass' as the headphones sit on your ear and don't go around them. Other then that Sound quality is fine, and the mic quality is fine as well. And in terms of investment I know someone that's owned one of these headsets and it's lasted for 2 years so it should last a fairly long time.

does this have a battery where I can walk around unplugged and when i plug it back in it recharges the battery?

This is not in any way shape or form a cordless headset. It is a USB audio device with stereo output and mic input and it is powered through USB also.

Does this headset work with voice applications like Skype, Ventrillo, Teamspeak, and Mumble?

yes.  quite well.  We have had it a long time now and it works perfectly.  is compatible and effective.  the mic is a  bit sensitive, but you can adjust that depending on its application.

Is this headset compatible with 64-bit Windows 7/8/10?  One wouldn't think to ask this, but I have a Plantronics that is not compatible with 64-bit Windows 7.

It works fine on my computer running win 7 64-bit. I don't remember having to do anything other then plug it into my my computers front USB port and telling mumble to use it as the input device (for the mic).

This headset has a single USB connector and is for PC only. If you make calls through your computer then yeah it would be great for calls but it would not plug into a phone directly.

I wasn't going to answer initially because I don't have an iphone, but then it dawned on me... these won't work with one.  This has a USB plug, and not a din plug like most headphones do.  This headphone has a built in sound card that will function even if your computer doesn't have a sound card in it.
