Logitech X-530 70 watts RMS 5.1 Black Speaker System - OEM

Pros: Wonderful, Crisp sound. Strong but not overpowering subwoofer. Simple set-up for a decently techno-literate user.

Cons: When they arrived, I noticed something rattling around in the sub. Took the back panel off (TONS of screws) and shook out a triangular block of wood, probably left over from fabrication. Not a huge deal, just raises an eyebrow. Speakers work fine though. Very light and simple "manual" but that isn't a problem if you can match colors and figure out that green=front black=rear and orange=center/sub

Overall Review: Does not have an optical input... but that does NOT mean this isn't a true 5.1 system like other reviewers have stated. That just means that this is a COMPUTER SPEAKER SYSTEM that relies on a hardware decoder to output analog 5.1 audio signals... thats what your sound card is for, people... come on.

Pros: For the price, these are superb 5.1 speakers, with an easy setup, clean audio, and a deep, clear bass. Don't be fooled by the power rating - in a moderate sized room, the 70W output from these will rattle the walls long before you get into distortion territory.

Cons: There is some degree of distortion at high volumes, but these speakers are really designed as a budget surround sound solution, not really intended for audiophiles.

Overall Review: I bought my first set of these more than a year ago and have not regretted it. I enjoyed the quality of the sound from these so much that I just ordered a second set for my sister, and she loves them. Just assume that you'll need to buy some audio extension cables for the rear speakers - the cords on those are long, but not quite long enough to stretch comfortably around a decent sized room.

Pros: The best speaker system that I have tried to date. I just love the sound that comes out of the speakers. Plus the sub delivers DEEP crisp room filling, glass shattering bass. I would really recommend this to ANYONE.

Cons: Cords are a little on the short side. Luckily I had some spare wire that I could use to put the speakers where I wanted to put them.

Overall Review: If you're looking for a really good 5.1 speaker system then this is for you!

Pros: For how inexpensive these set of speakers were for the cost of it. $54.99 on August 25th, 2008, I am wondering how or WHY Logitech would sell these for so cheap. The quality of these speakers are amazing. Of course, the wattage for the sub-woofer isn't godly amazing, but I don't want to be waking the entire neighborhood up anyways. A 3/4 of max bass setting the woofer makes my entire room shake. So it is definitely overkill for my needs. The small speakers are amazing as well and each have a mesh protecting and covering each one from pressure and/or unwanted dust. 5.1 surround sound works, just popped in a dvd and I am getting 5.1 instantly. The effect is amazing. Almost like my home theatre system downstairs. The black shine on all these speakers give a very clean and professional look, you will not be disappointed on how good these things will look on your desk. Sound is crystal clear and absolutely no hissing when silent. PROS continued on Cons, cuz it's THAT GOOD.

Cons: NO CONS. Didn't even have to think about what to plug in, or what type of sound card to get. Just match green with green, orange with orange and black with black. NO confusion at all. The size of the speakers are great and they are low profile, they can fit almost anywhere. All speakers can swivel their base, for wall mounting. I wish there was a better way for my to manage my speaker cables, as some of these cables are very long :( though people who plan on using this in a large room, might want to reconsider, as they are perfect for a small room, but probably not long enough for a larger room.

Overall Review: I have a on-board 7.1 Audio from Realtek and the sound quality is amazing, the two work great together. No problems at all for a solid 2 months. My setup: Asus Z7S WS, 2xIntel Xeon E5430, 8GB Cruical FB-DIMM DDR2-800, 300GB VelociRaptor, 3x500GB Seagate HDD, ASUS 4870x2, Corsair 1000W PSU, Watercooling with EK Supreme and Thermochill PA120.3. OCing @ 2.92Ghz 24/7 rock solid stable. 40 second cinebench10, superpi to 32M in 17 minutes.

Pros: I have had these speakers for over 1.5 years. So far they still sound/work great. I use them for listening to music, watching movies, playing games, and even for throwing parties (they can get pretty loud). They are great multipurpose speakers. I even had them hooked up to my t.v. while my comp was down. Some review will always find something wrong with them I'm sure. No these aren't $500 Bose speakers, but they work and sound great.

Cons: 1.5 years and no problems yet.

Overall Review: If they go on sale, buy them. Note: If you live in an apartment complex, these speakers will make your neighbors hate you.

Pros: these speakers are fantastic for the money. I was looking for a set of 5.1's to replace my 4.1's and these were perfect. excellent sound quality.

Cons: control cable on right speaker is short, the right front speaker has the volume control and other stuff like that and the cable is only like 3 or 4 feet long so I cannot hide the subwoofer.

Overall Review: awesome speakers for the price.

Pros: for a very cheap price, you're getting a powerful 5.1 system. I don't know what people are talking about concerning the length of the cords. The rear cables are about 8-10 feet+, while the front are about 6-7'. Plenty for a computer desk and some speaker stands/stools setup behind you. Looks good, bass control on subwoofer (though as someone else reviewed, it sort of doesn't do anything after about half way). Plenty loud for music, games, movies.

Cons: Not enough speaker wire to set up a home-theater in your room, but then these just aren't powerful enough for most people. Obvious drawbacks are no tweeters, and 40hz subwoofer frequency. total Hz range is 40-20khz. For me, this really isn't an issue, I can feel the bass enough; also, the highs are crisp enough. Another thing that bothers me almost more is that the speakers are a little light and are made out of plastic; they look like they're heavy as a brick in the pictures, but in all honesty - they're not. As long as you can sustain your "It has to be heavy duty" ego, then it's fine. I wish they had a treble controller on the speakers, otherwise I have to use the equalizer that comes with the audio drivers.

Overall Review: I'm even running on Integrated A'97 Audio (Non-HD), and these still blow me away; I imagine the sound would greatly improveif I had a Creative sound blaster, e.t.c.. Conclusion is: You honestly can't beat the price for the performance. Pros: Dirt cheap, 5.1, excellent sound from music to fps's, Can get far louder than what is good for your ears, sufficient cable length, look awesome. Cons: Light, plastic (subwoofer is far from light, can't tell, it's definietly the most well built), no 20hz or 25khz ranges, no treble control. Would I buy these again? Most definitely.

Pros: Speakers are loud and clear - even on the smallest setting the bass really kicks!

Cons: The front speaker cords may have been a tad bit longer. The front left speaker is very short, and it is hard to get to my box on the right hand side of my desk.

Overall Review: Would not reccoment for anyone living in an apartment. I've had the speakers a couple weeks and have already received a complaint :( - the bass is very powerful even when turned down.
