I assume this is compatible with the 9280-24i4e card but what about mounting? It seems like it doesn't mount on the card itself.   Is a mounting bracket required?  Is there a kit?

I am using 2x of these with 9280-24i4e, yes it's compatible - make sure you have the latest firmware on your card(s).

This does not mount on card, I used Velcro to the side of the case so that the battery was in cool air flow - comes with a cable that should reach any side of your case.

Anyone know if this will work on the LSI MegaRaid 9260-8i model?

I believe this LSI Battery will work on most models of the Mega Raid Controllers It is a daughter card that attaches to the controller to support write back cash - Will take a while to fully charge after installation.
