Six analog outputs provide full high-definition 24-bit/192kHz audio playback on up to eight channels transmitting analog audio as a digital signal (PCM). A coaxial digital out adds pass-through of Dolby Digital and DTS with decoding using third-party applications.

There's also support for SRS TruSurround XT that simulates surround sound through stereo speakers and SRS Circle Surround II, which takes stereo content and makes it into surround. Game support includes APIs for Sensaura, EAX, DirectSound and A3D and there's a software-based control panel for bass management and other audio tweaking features.

A separate headphone jack means you won't have to reach around the back of your computer to disconnect your speakers to listen through a stereo headset or headphones. A line-in jack allows for recording from music equipment, CD players and digital audio players directly to your PC and an external mic input is onboard, too, for connecting a microphone for recording sound or for video conferencing, gaming or Internet phone calls or chat.
