Question 1

The product name says "mini HDMI" but the product description just says "HDMI".  I'm assuming the product name is just badly worded and the "mini" is referring to the size of the switch box and not to the type of cable that connects to it.  I have 2 HDMI input cables that I want to switch between for one HDMI output cables.  I have no mini HDMI cables.  Is this the correct switch for me?

The "mini" refers to the physical size of the switch and not the size of the HDMI cable couplers. Mine use the standard HDMI cables.

Question 2

Can I drive two monitors from one PC simultaneously?  Have big class room.

This won't do that ... this goes the other way and lets you have multiple inputs to one output, it won't allow you to output to multiple screens.  If you only have one hdmi output on your PC and you're looking to connect to multiple displays, you may want to look into an external video adapter that will give you an extra output.

Yeah, it does ... I've got a PS3 , an AppleTV and a Chromecast plugged into this... it does a good job of auto-switching between the different inputs when it senses a new signal... I sometimes have to unplug the Chromecast, but it does a great job picking up the AppleTV and PS3 when they're turned on/taken out of sleep mode

Is this compatible with DVI?

Yes and no.  The switch itself only has HDMI ports on it, but if you  were to buy an HDMI to DVI cable, I see no reason why it wouldn't work.  Just keep in mind that DVI does not support audio and video, only video.

Question 5

I am looking for a HDMI switch that will work with blue ray & hi def cable boxes. My last switch would only work with HDMI computer outputs. Does anyone out there have experience with these parameters?

I haven't used it all with these parameters, but I do have a computer, Xbox, and a Chromecast hooked up to the switch. It is working well for me, so I would assume that it would also work with blu ray and hi def cable boxes.

I haven't had any issues with the remote, but I've also not used it very often. The device will automatically switch to the powered on device.

What size is the 5v DC jack? I can't find the spec on it anywhere.

Thanks for the replies but I guess I should have been more specific. I do NOT want to power the device through the HDMI cable or the first powered-on device. One device is always on and I don't want that device supplying the power. I'd like to power the device through the 5vDC jack. I had hoped to order a 5v PS at the same time as this item. Sorry to turn a simple question into a book but if you can't answer the question please don't respond.

The ir emiter plug on my spliter broke. I can't use my remote the to switch between my ps3 on my computer.

My question is do I have to buy another one or can I just buy another ir emiter and or remote?

If the plug (input) on the splitter is broken then it's a problem with the splitter; buy a new one. If you bought it recently, it would possibly still be under warranty. If so, you could send it in for a replacement splitter. Hope this helps!
