this is just an empty case, not a storage device, you put in your own drive :-)

I have this product and have used it in the past.  Works great! Now I have a WD Caviar Blue 500 GB hard drive, SATA and would like to know if it's possible to adapt it so that I can use this enclosure? Thanks~

I know of adapters that can convert pata to sata.  However, any adapter would cause the drive to extend beyond the enclosure.

Therefore I don't believe that you can use a sata drive with this enclosure.

Question 4

Has anyone tried connecting internal DVD/CD drives to see if they work too? (I know they won't physically fit.)

Haven't tried it myself, but it looks as if it would work.  If you use it with a hard drive, be *very* careful with the screws that hold the board in the enclosure.  They are very small, and far to easily lost.
