I have two external monitors, both using HDMI I want to use with my laptop.  If I purchase this item will I need any adapters, and is this the model of Matox DualHead I need ?

Make sure you have a "Display Port" - or mini Display port... 
AND go to the matrox site & run their compatibility test.
You will most likely need a male hdmi -->  female dvi adapter to put on the back of the monitors...  unless the monitors already have DVI connectors.

It is a pain in the neck to get this thing to work like you want it to - so make sure you download the matrox software...

does it work with a thunderbolt port on mambook air?

and if so, can i simultaneously split to both a computer monitor and an hdmi tv set/monitor
