Pros: It is unbelievably quiet. My computer is very quiet but this 360 is even quieter than that. If you don't want to mod your 360 with quieter fans or whatever, this is your best option. Sell your old 360 and get this. It is worth it just for the quiet alone. It is noticeably smaller and lighter. The console itself and the power brick are no longer dumbbell alternatives. The chrome surrounding the "home button" on the controller is nice.
Cons: The console is not as shiny as I thought it would be.
Pros: Silent, Sleek Design, Sound Effects when pushing buttons loll, Wireless, 250GB Hard Drive.
Cons: Fingerprint Magnet, Doesn't include HD AV Cable.
Pros: Sweet looking, WIFI N is awesome and connected with zero problems. Love the touch sensor buttons to open the tray and turn on the xbox. So so so quiet compared to my other Xbox 360s. I love it and I am buying another.
Cons: No cons because I knew what I was getting. Wasnt expecting a brand new system design...although the 720 would have been nice -)
Overall Review: Cannot wait the the KINECT..this Xbox is KINECT ready and is going to blow the WII away.
Pros: Very quiet. Power on, and eject buttons are now touch sensitive. It is a little smaller. Optical sound port native. More USB ports in back. It is an improvement.
Cons: I never had this error before, but after connecting to my Linksys WRT160nV2 Router, both consoles were moderate NAT when playing COD. Look this up on XBOX forums, but I spent better part of a day figuring out how to get NAT open both consoles. It is possible but you have to port range forward inside your router and assign 1 console a static IP address. Googling moderate NAT also eventually helped. (Moderate, strict and open NAT seems to only apply to XBOX)
Overall Review: I now own this and a COD MW2 Elite edition XBox360. (2 Xboxes so the wife and I could play at same time) This was my benchmark for comparison. I would defiantly buy this again, but only if I wanted an additional XBOX360. Don't replace a perfectly working xbox.
Pros: if you know anything about the new xbox pro's that havent already been said(shiny, wifi, piano gloss, more compact) , i'll give YOU an egg instead(sorry for this corny joke). but anyway, it lives up to the hype. much much MUCH better than its predecessor(s) in respect of design. other than that it's just an xbox360. don't get this if you already have the older one. this was my first xbox360 so it's definitely worth it for newcomers.
Cons: -no free gaming unlike PSN, must buy xboxlive annually if you actually want to play multiplayers on the majority of the better games -scratches the disc if you move it during play. this is not a con to me honestly because come on why the heck would a person be moving their consoles during play that's just unnecessary. LEAVE IT ALONE. it's not like the console is wobbly by itself or anything.
Overall Review: I have been hearing lots of complaints about overheating and the recently new phenomena of Red Dot of Ring. This is certainly something to keep in mind but please hear me out. Yes it is true that this slim overheats while playing games. At first i was very surprised at this, however that was because I forgot to INSTALL the game(s) onto the HD. Everyone I know who's been complaining about the OVERHEATING have been playing the games UNinstalled. Just install your games, and the heat will SIGNIFICANTLY be reduced.
Pros: Smaller, larger HDD, integrated WiFi, shhhhush *quiet*.
Cons: Prices have dropped, but still a significant investment.
Overall Review: I had the original Black 120GB Xbox 360 Elite. It was good, but extremely loud, to the point where using it for anything besides gaming was a complete joke. I wanted to use it for a Media Center Extender and also to watch movies via optical disk or download from Marketplace, but none of it was feasible due to the extreme noise. It also RROD, but MS fixed that under their bonus warranty plan. This new model addresses all my issues. I LOVE IT!
Pros: * Slim design and new look * Built in Wifi with 802.11b/g/n * Optical Port * Kinect Port * 5 USB ports * Auto-Shutdown if overheats * Touch Power and Disc Tray buttons * Vents on both sides * Smaller Power Brick * Less Power Consumption * Almost Silent * 250gb HDD * 45nm Processor
Cons: * GPU/CPU placement has some worries * Only comes with RCA AV cables
Overall Review: I've previously owned an Xbox 360 Arcade with a 120gb HDD and just had to get the new Xbox 360 S or Slim. I will put this system to the test with hours of gaming.
Pros: The console has several nice features: Form factor Touch sensitive buttons Audible tones for power on/off and disc tray open/close New chip/heatsink/fan design On-board TOSLINK optical connection Lower power consumption Built-in 802.11b/g/n 250gb HDD (I guess... should have been at least 500gb)
Cons: It has a couple cons though. Note that some of these are very subjective: The glossy finish (I preferred the matte black) Chrome (Can't stand the stuff) Rubber "feet" on bottom (when upright) don't allow very much room between console and surface, POSSIBLY impeding airflow. Still doesn't allow use of run of the mill 2.5" hard drives. (Stop locking your hardware down!!!)
Overall Review: Just because the fan is quiet doesn't mean it's not moving more air. The fact of the matter is, the new console has an improved design for the CPU/GPU, heatsink, and fan. Just because the vent on the bottom is blocked doesn't mean there isn't air coming into the console elsewhere. I had a Xenon based 360 that I bought in June '07. It just recently RROD'd. With this new design, I don't have any worries about how long it will last. I can expect this new design to last much longer than the previous revisions. The key is treating your equipment with respect and allowing enough surrounding space for proper ventilation. For those complaining about the heat that's coming out of the vent, think of it this way... it's better for the heat to be pushed out of the console than allowed to stagnate and bake the components as was the case in the older consoles. Hope this helps.
