how many users come in this package?

I got these for my employer. It says 2 installations for the professional version.  I have been able to get 2 installs, and I haven't tried any more to see if it works. I think the home & student version gets 3 installs. 
In the description on newegg, it also says 2 installs.

you don't say how many users. 1 PC 2PC 3PC 1PC & 1 Lap Top? what is it?

In the Overview it states that "Disc and product key.  For use on 2 PC's." with a number 1 next to it.  When you look further down the page (Under the System Requirements)you will see that the number 1 states that "Licensed for 1 user on their primary and portable PC."

So I would take that to mean you can use 1 license for your primary computer (the main system you are using) and the other for your secondary system like a laptop or netbook type system.

I have a network server with two work stations.  How many installs can it do with this product?

The number of installs you can legally do depends on the license key. I have seen sources with license keys for 1 install and others having license keys for 2 or more installs and a relative price that corresponds to the number of authorized installs.  Your software should indicate (somewhere on the package) how many computers you may legally install your software on.

License = 1 User - 2 PC with "installation disk" (i.e., a pc/laptop/windows tablet) Do I read this to mean I could install this on 2 desktop PC`s of mine? Rather than 1 PC & 1 laptop? And could 1 be 32 bit & the other 64 bit ?

I have installed this program on a 8 Pro 64 bit pc and Vista 32 bit laptop with no issues as of this yet.
I would think that you can install on 2 separate pc as the program should not care what kind of machine it is installed on.
Only conflict I see is system requirements.

does this software require a subscription?

No, just the purchase. There is a product out there called Office 360 that is subscription based and runs from their servers that requires a subscription. I don't like that idea at all, but that is just me.

According to the Microsoft announcement I found in the archives:  "For consumers running 32-bit operating systems, the 32-bit version of Office 2010 is compatible with Windows 7, Vista with SP1, XP with SP3, Server 2008, and Server 2003 R2 with MSXML 6.0. For those running 64-bit operating systems, the 32-bit version of Office 2010 is compatible with Windows 7, Vista SP1, Server 2008 R2, Server 2008, and Server 2003 R2 with MSXML 6.0. The 64-bit version of Office 2010 will not work on Server 2003 R2 with MSXML 6.0."

For microsoft office professional, can it be installed in more than one computer?

They have versions for 1, 3, even 5 PC's but you pay for each Level. Just look on your package if you have Disk or for download versions contact Microsoft (Have your Key Code Ready) and they can tell you for how many PC's are available. Richard K
