I notice this oem. Does it come with a key?

It should. Either a peel and stick COA label or a yellow label with the Key on it in the packaging.  If you have a Key, you can download the install disc from Microsoft for free. Just look on the COA for a number like X16-79835. It will start with an X and might be 15, 16 or 17 and then a dash and 5 digits. Google it.

Is there a product key or activation code that comes with this product?

Yes. It has the sticker for placing on the computer that identifies the activation code.

What does the word Slim mean?

Slim envelope means nothing more than a 5 x 7 inch printed envelope made from poster board weight material, open at the top and sealed with a round piece of tape.  No DVD/CD case or paper envelope inside. Contents 1 DVD inside COA on the outside.

Question 4

Does Windows 7 include Word and Excel or must they be purchased separately?

Windows 7 is the operating system,  Microsoft Word and Excel are part of the Microsoft office application suites. Microsoft Office is a wholly separate product and as such must be purchased seperately.

how many licenses come w/this version?

One license per win 7. It's the OEM version it will only install on one machine. You must do a clean install!

Question 6

Does this product include a CD, DVD, or any other media or do I
install from a download?  If from a download, does it come from
newegg or from Microsoft?

It is a DVD
Key code is on the jacket for DVD
it is hard to read the code but you can take a Picture of it
and then blow it up ......
i guess my eyes are bad but i do have glasses
still had to blow it up to read

whats the difference in use between 32 and 64 bit?

To find out if your computer is running a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows in Windows 7 or Windows Vista, do the following:
1. Open System by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, right-clicking Computer, and then clicking Properties. 
2.Under System, you can view the system type.

If your computer is running Windows XP, do the following:
1.Click Start.
2.Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
•If you don't see "x64 Edition" listed, then you're running the 32-bit version of Windows XP.

•If "x64 Edition" is listed under System, you're running the 64-bit version of Windows XP.

Is this Windows 7 Professional an upgrade from XP?

I recently took a machine running XP, backed up my important data, still had plenty of space on the hard drive so I just installed Windows 7 and all my data was still there, what had been XP was moved to a folder called windows.old

Still needed to run updates and reinstall a few programs, but was able to be back up and running in a few hours.

I was expecting the hard drive to get wiped during the change in OS, but that didn't happen (would still recommend backing up your data in any case)

I don't know what "slim envelope" stands for. Can you elaborate?
Does this product come with an actual disc of some sort?

It beats me that they don't know the answer to this, since they sent it out. It is a single disc in a cardboard envelope 14 x 19 cm. However, the cardboard envelope is packaged in some larger wrapping. I don't remember what exactly because I've already thrown the outer wrapping away. The cardboard envelope is still unopened because I'm waiting for my brother, who is the computer genius in the family, to install it for me.

IS this delivered as a download or DVD?

It was a dvd if I remember correctly.  I understand the 32 and 64 bit version are both on there.
