Is this the FULL VERSION including Service Pack 1? or is it only Service Pack 1?  I need to install Windows 7 on my system (which only has XP currently).

Yes, this is the full install.  Plan on several hours of updates once installed.  There is no upgrade path from XP, so be sure to backup documents, etc.,  and be prepared to re-install all applications, including moving licenses to the 7.

This was a DVD version. I installed it on a Dell T3400 from 2008 that had been running XP Pro. The new OS runs very well, and it archived the old user files and programs in case they're needed later.

This was a DVD. I ended up eating it because I meant to buy the 64 bit version, installed a 64 bit version and all is well.

This is an OEM product, and I'm not quite sure what that means...  I need to be sure I receive a hard disc for each piece I purchase (plan on 8)...is this a downloadable version or hard disc?

OEM product means that you are going to install it into something to sell.  I'm selling a computer to myself.

The disk will install from the DVD supplied.  You then have to register it online and let it update itself to the latest release.  Note that this is the 32 bit version which you would likely only use on an older 32 bit machine - which also might only have a CD player rather than the DVD required.

This will do a full as well as an upgrade. Upgrade from within windows except for XP as it will not upgrade and has to be done as a clean install. For clean installs, just boot to the disk and follow the prompts. On the screen for upgrade or custom, choose custom and proceed from there. Hope this helps.

I want to upgrade 3 computers in my office from Windows XP to Windows 7.  Can I use this for all of them?

No, this is a single-machine license and cannot be used for multiple installations. You would need to purchase three seperate copies of the software to get 3 licenses. You can, however, use the one license on ANY computer at one time. So if you later get a newer computer, you can wipe out your current install and move it to the new by installing windows 7 there. (Hope that made sense)

One thing to keep in mind, this is a 32-bit license. I accidentally purchased this instead of a 64-bit license and had to keep it since I already opened and installed the software. Once opened, it's yours. So be sure you're not wanting to install the 64-bit Windows 7 if your computer CPUs will support it. Good luck!

No, it does not come with any version of Microsoft Office, so you'd have to buy it separately.  It does include Notepad though ;)  You might consider LibreOffice if you're looking for a free (and quite good) alternative to Microsoft Office.

What I purchased from Newegg was a physical DVD and packaging that included the license number. However, I believe you can download Windows 7 from just about anywhere and then purchase the license no. later from Newegg.
