The key is electronic delivery (e-mail).   I made the purchase at 9:11pm.  It took Newegg nearly 12 hours to send me an e-mail  "For your protection we are sending you this email to ensure this was a change you requested".  I paid with PayPal.

Shortly afterward I received the e-mail, I received the key.

Will the the 8.1 Pro Pack upgrade work on windows 8?

Yes, but my experience was a little tough. When I buy new laptops for users at our company, I also buy the Pro upgrade. I had two laptops in a row where the pro upgrade wasn't accepted. After calling Microsoft, I finally realized that the 8.1 pro upgrade wasn't working, because the new laptops only had 8 installed.

There is an easy workaround, though: we were able to upgrade to 8.1 for free through the Store, then apply the 8.1 Pro upgrade key.

Had windows 8 upgraded to 8.1 but need to upgrde to Pro version.  Is this the right product?

Yes.  You will receive a keycode.

Go to Windows Anytime Upgrade and enter the keycode and it will take care of the rest.

Windows 10 will be released later this year.  At that point, you will upgrade (for free) to the same version of Windows 10 - pro instead of basic.  (You would still have to pay for Pro when 10 comes out so it's not bad to do it now.)

Make sure you have read that this is the Upgrade for windows 8.1 users and will add Pro features like media center and related.  This is not a working operating system. This Newegg Windows 8.1 Pro Upgrade is just a Code that is emailed to you, and with your working windows 8.1 operating system already running, you simply select (upgrade) within system settings and enter in the code purchased from Newegg.  I purchased the working Windows 8.1 operating system at Online Microsoft Store and then purchased the PRO upgrade on Newegg.  Usually you can buy the download version of Windows 8.1 Pro for around the same combined price as Windows 8.1 and the Pro upgrade.  On the Microsoft store website you buy the Download version and have a option to add a DVD copy that they will mail to you.

Yes its both 32/64bit , i upgraded a 64bit computer to 8.1 recently and have also upgraded my dell venue 8 pro(32 bit)  to 8.1 pro with these packs.

is this a full version or just a code. Do I have to buy a download also?

This is only a product code that is entered in the "Add features to windows" dialog that is part of windows 8.1 standard version.  It crunches for a while, reboots, then you have 8.1 PRO.  Mostly useful for the RDP server and domain connect capability, although some other stuff is thrown in too.

You can use this to upgrade from win 7, any flavor. 
In windows file explorer, right click computer, go to properties. On left pane, click windows anytime upgrade. Enter the code. 
You will need to install about 200 updates after the upgrade. Allow about 5 hours with a good internet connection. Recommend at least 6GB ram.

I currently own a Macbook Pro and want to run windows as I own Chief Architect software which runs on Windows.  Is this the right product (as it references upgrading from 8.0 which I do not have)?

This is just a license to upgrade Windows 8.1 to 8.1 Pro (it adds Media Center too). You need a full Windows 8.1 license +install media, and some kind of VM/Dual boot solution like Parallels. You won't need this add-on at all.

I've downloaded windows 8 pro on my parents computer. Now they need a key to make it work. is this the answer that I'm looking for?

That isn't clear. First, this is for Windows 8.1, not 8, but in most cases 8 will upgrade to 8.1 for free. Second, this key will only upgrade a running and licensed copy of Windows 8.1 non-pro to Windows 8.1 Pro. If your computer wasn't already running the basic version of Windows 8 before you downloaded, this won't do you any good. You need a full license for that.
