Can I use it with the mobile adapter and still use the small attached rubber antenna?

Craig,

The short answer is that, yes, the attached rubber antenna will work with the DC power supply.

The long answer:

However you may find the operational range disappointing without an external antenna. Without the external antenna and inside a vehicle, the reception range is only slightly more than line of sight. With a good magnet mount type antenna you will still have portability between vehicles and dramatically increase your transmit/receive range. It also makes using the CB inside the vehicle easier as the rubber antenna can be removed. Without the antenna and with the DC adapter connected, the whole CB is about the size of a normal CB microphone.

Notes on the CB and power included power adapters:

The lower portion of the CB detaches so that you can put on either the alkaline battery compartment, rechargeable battery compartment, or DC adapter with external antenna connection. The rechargeable battery compartment has the connection for the AC power supply which will only recharge the batteries. I just checked mine, and it would not turn on with the AC adapter connected either with or without batteries. The batteries were charged up enough for it to turn on with just them.

Overall:

I am please with the performance of the CB itself. I bought it due to the Midland name, the size, and DC adapter with external antenna jack. The Weather Radio feature is a nice plus that I did not have on my "must have" list. The buttons are well placed so that they are easy to reach without one getting pushed every time you pick up the CB. I would not consider any brand other than Midland when it comes to CB radios.

Whats the distance range for this radios ?

I have never been able to run a true test with someone with a fixed location. I do have an external antenna. Based on using it on interstates, I would estimate 1 mile in mountainous areas and up to 3 miles on flat ground.

does it include a vibrate alter when it received calls?

I do not think it has a vibrate feature.  We have not actually ever received a call on this unit. I turn it on while motorhoming on the Interstate (I-90) thru Montana, Wyoming and Colorado but have never heard anyone actually speaking to one another.  Not sure if peeps use CB technology much anymore.  Might save your butt in an emergency.

Question 4

What type of rechargeable battery does this use? I know they are AA. the charger that comes with the radio and the owners manual that I have just says rechargeable.

you can use any rechargeable AA batteries in them as long as they are close to 1.2v - 1.5v AA's.
