What are the dimensions of the stand?

The stand has 31" double-link swing arms and a height adjustment range of 17 inches.

Will the monitors be secure enough if we do not connect the stand to the desk and just use the stand?

The stand is weighted, so unless you position the monitors to be super asymmetrical/unbalanced, it's fine for me, at least. I could shake the table I have the stand on, but wouldn't get any wobble from the stand.
