On a full charge, running at highest performance level on battery  you can expect to use it it for at least 1 hour. If you will run the laptop in the battery saving mode you can go more than 3 hours on the battery only.

Yes. The product description graphic shows it as having an IPS display. MSI's site shows this model comes with either an IPS or a high NTSC (color range) display.

Does this run hot/require cooling assistance (such as a mounted fan/cooling pad)? As well, how well does this run VR?

it runs VR great when plugged in. it has a few speed modes. when unplugged from the power supply it seems like you cant switch it into the fastest mode, but i didnt extensively test that. I just noticed if you try to run VR off of battery power you have very reduced framerate, which goes away as soon as you plug the power supply back in. 
I have run about 50 different VR apps on it and heat of the machine was nominal. I mean its going to heat up, but I wouldn't call it out of the ordinary-- when you push a machine, it heats up. the hottest I got it was from extended stays in Google EarthVR 1+hour, where heat was definitely becoming an issue though I did not get any warnings. It's always a good idea to go overkill on cooling any machine.

Does the Webcam require a license to use it?

No.  However, there's some kind of 3d or virtual thing with the webcam that does require a usage and will occasionally nag you when you start the webcam up.  But it's not a hassle.  But for instance in Windows webcam, you have to hit some button to switch the webcam mode to normal (free) mode from the VR (licensed) mode.

Enter an answer to this question.TCGR wildlands runs pretty well, but does dip down to as low as 40 FPS sometimes on ultra. Wildlands is a pretty demanding game and even overclocked I saw my CPU hit 100% utilization fairly frequently.

Yes the keyboard is full color back lighting (red colour).
No you cannot change the colour.

what is the hertz of the display?

Dont know!  But plays Fallout 4 with no problems...I would guess it is at least 60Hz...The GTX 1060 card supports at least that.

Anyone know how to, on a brand-new out-of-the-box unit, resolve an audio problem where when using headphones, only the LEFT-side works, the RIGHT-side does not?  Looking for valid answers. I got a similar audio problem, but it was only the cracking noise in my head phones. I solved this issue by just downloading the latest audio drivers for this MSI device. 
1. Uninstall the nahimic 2+ and audio drivers. 
2. Go to the MSI web page and search for MSI GL62VR. 
3. Download the latest Audio Driver with Nahimic.
4. Install it.
5. Restart the system.
6. Make sure that other software is not overriding your audio device.

Can I disable the onboard graphics card to use the dedicated Nvidia card in Premiere? Are other functions disabled if I do so?

Inside the NVIDIA Control Panel, you can tell applications to specifically use the dedicated graphics or change the global rule for everything to use the dedicated graphics.  You might also check in the settings for Premiere itself to tell the program to take advantage of the dedicated graphics only.
