The best way to confirm specs is actually by checking the manufacturer's website. With many of our products you can click on the "Warranty & Returns" tab and you will find the Manufacturer's contact info, including the manufacturer's website.   This board would require an 8th generation Intel Core processor or equivalent Pentium/Celeron processor (Socket 1151 300 Series).

I see there are 4 4-pin PWM fan connectors, I intend to use a PWM fan for my processor, but I want to use 3-pin fans for the case.  Will the BIOS allow me to control voltage to my 3-pin fans, thereby controlling their speed?

Is there anything extra you have to do if using an m.2 nvme drive for loading the os?

Not for Windows 10, the installer will just recognize the drive as normal.
For windows 7 or some Linux OS you might have to put nvme drivers on a disk and load them during install.

4 without using any splitters or fan hubs
1 CPU fan header, 2 case fan headers, and 1 labeled for radiator (but can be used for any fan)
If you get a fan hub or even just 3 or 4 pin splitter cables you can support many fans.

What Bios version does this motherboard come with? Is there any way to get it shipped with the 9th gen support bios version installed?

Unfortunately we cannot guarantee that this board will come with the 9th Gen CPU support BIOS update pre-installed.  If you want out of the box compatibility you will need to get a Z390 board instead as we cannot check to see that the specific unit that is shipped to you has it installed nor can we install it before shipment.  Our apologies for the inconvenience!
