Is this computer powerful enough to play games like Smite or WarThunder on movie or max graphics?

you should be fine with Smite and games of similar quality on max graphics no problem. I just got mine and have been playing Borderlands 2 on it without any problems. I have yet to try Battlefield 4 graphics but you should be fine.

Question 2

Is the ram for the nvidia 950m gddr3 or gddr5? I've seen gddr3 on multiple sites but on the MSI website it says gddr5 so I'm not sure.

Its GDDR3 in this computer. The MSI website says GDDR5 but on the box and in the user manual on this computer it says GDDR3.

Does this have a m.2 slot for an extra drive?

Yes Ryan, it has an M2 slot where you can add up to 4 additional M2 drives (three of you add the second shahada/SSD). It also has an extra slot for a second HDD / SSD (2.5" Form). However it requires a special cable splitter/ adapter. 
Type this into a youtube searchbox:   "How to Install a Second 2.5" HDD in the MSI GT72 Dominator Laptop"

The video does not give the specs on the needed hardware to add the extra HHD / SSD. But I found the three items needed on Amazon :

SATA HDD to M.2 NGFF Socket Adapter Converter Card

Sata III 6gbps Premium Cable 6" Black Straight to Straight OK6A3RK11

SATA 22 Pin Male to SATA 7 Pin and 2 X 15 Pin SATA Female Connectors - 2"

So far I've replaced the 1TB HHD with a Samsung 850 EVO Pro 500 GB SSD and made the 1TB HDD a slave using the above hardware. Added 16 GB of Ballistix DDR3L 1.3V 1866Mhz to max out the 32 GB of RAM.  
The machine definitely needs the upgrades before you can realize the benefits of the new abroad well processor.  It is an excellent product! The LORD bless you Ryan!!
