No, Im sorry but the logo doesn't illuminate on the mouse.  But the notebook is a great buy!  I've had it for a month or so now and I love it!

Does MSI lock down the OS in the BIOS or can you load Windows 7 on it?

I've loaded Windows 7 professional on mine. I also replaced the data drive with a faster hybrid drive. There were some issues initially with the Killer/Qualcomm drivers that caused random restarts. I've since updated the driver sets and it's pretty stable. I still get a random crash, about once a month. I use it daily for a few hours at a time

Just bought this. Wondering how long this gadget will last? Is it durable or will become obsolete in no time when the new technology comes?

I did a lot of research before choosing this product and have owned it since early September. It will be a long time before this laptop is obsolete. My 4 year old Sony VIAO, which was not as high end as this MSI when I bought it is still very relevant today with a core i5, 8Gig of Ram, a 128GB SSD, and nivida geforce 540m. Still runs great at 4 years old and can run a lot of games still .

The MSI I purchased has the 4930MX processor, which most places consider a $500 upgrade from the 4700, between that and the GTX780m it is the fastest commercially available laptop on the market today.

Of course over time, faster, better products will come out, but at some point you have to jump in and make a purchase. Since you purchased at such a high end it will be relevant for a long time to come. If you are worried about the deal (it is pricey) but the equivalent at some places where you choose what goes into the laptop will cost about $5,000. Trust me I tried.

This is my first MSI but these guys build a lot of high-end electronics, from mother boards to graphics cards, and everything I have purchased in the past has been great and lasted, so I am hoping the same for this. When it comes to high-end these guys know a lot more about it than say HP or Dell. I had a little buyers remorse when I saw the price drop a week after I purchased it, but that my friend is the nature of the beast. I suggest you just let it go and enjoy the fastest commercially available laptop on the planet.

One last note. I noticed the laptop was very slow on battery, and made some adjustment under the power options in the control panel so it would be faster plugged in, and faster when on battery, but I prefer speed over battery life. It was very slow when on battery, but I know they did that to make the battery last longer. If you need a long battery life leave it as it is, but if you want the power you paid for even on battery power than go make those changes.

is RED the only color this comes in?! Then about the Blu-Ray burner... will it also burn dual layer Blu-Rays, as well as cd's & dvd's?

Yes it only comes in red because it is the Dragon Edition. Also it may be able to do Dual-Layer Buu-Ray disks bot dont take my word for it i do not have one. but all Blu-Ray burners do dvd's, and cd's
