Question 1

Can this card support multiple monitors?  It only has one HDMI port .  How do you set it up for dual monitors?  Can't find any info on MSI site.

You will note this card has 3 ports - HDMI, DVI, and Displayport. Each port can support a monitor for a total of up to 3 monitors. If your monitors do not support the listed ports, you can find cables that automatically convert to a different port type. For instance, it seems like you need an HDMI port for a second/third monitor. You can get a DVI to HDMI cable and a Displayport to HDMI cable.  You can also get adapters that change something like the Displayport to an HDMI port so your HDMI cable will work. Hope this helps!

When I use the MSI Afterburner application to monitor this GPU, the fan tachometer shows "0" even though the fan is spinning. Is this normal?

I see the same thing on a different monitoring application. The other stats were shown, but fan RPM was 0.

Is this card backward compatible with PCI-E 2.0?

short answer yes. I put mine in an old Dell XPS 8300. The question really is the bios compatible, in my case no. The workaround for my dual monitor setup is to leave onboard video connected to a monitor as well as the 1650super. The computer wont post into bios with only the 1650Super connected. The computer gets tricked into posting then its all good. Have to touch the input selector on 2nd monitor often after sleep mode to get the screen back is the only minor issue with it really. Not a gamer really but video is nice at 1440. The video test from Dell website and somewhere else showed great as expected results so it seems fully functional. Hope that helps.
