How does noise compare between this and full-length cards? I need a quiet card for HTPC

It is fairly quiet - certainly quieter than the full length EVGA GTX 660(which I have in my full tower); I cannot hear it over the system fans in my small form factor rig. It is still a dual-bay card and can get noisy under heavy load, so I would recommend a passively-cooled or a single-bay card for your HTPC if silence is your highest priority.

Question 2

How loud is the cooler on this card? I'm looking for something to use with my HTPC, where silence is golden.

It gets loud at 85% to 100% fan speed... I personally have never heard it get that loud.  I play diablo 3 and watch movies at the same time with an old core 2 duo. 2 gigs ram. And win vista 32bit.  If your htpc has decent airflow you should never hear this card.

It may be overkill on an htpc...  but its the best small form factor card.

Does this card run hot? I have an intake fan blowing directly towards my PCIe 16x slot.

No mine don't but you must keep in mind that the ambient temp of the room your running your p.c. in always comes into play no matter how you keep things cool air or water. My average room temp is always 75 degrees. For example if your room temp is 75 degrees and you have ample air cooling inside your p.c. then you can add another 20 to 30 degrees for the inside temp. Under load depending on your c.p.u. mine is a (I7 Haswell with stock cooling) add 70 degrees or more plus your room temp. I always have the air cond. on so mine stays nice and cool. I have ran games such as BF4 for hours on end and the highest temps I have ever seen was 132 degrees.

Can it support 2 monitors?

Yes, it can support two.  Easiest is HDMI. Then there are the DVI-I port and the two mini-display ports.  This card may not support gaming at the highest resolutions allowed by two simultaneous displays, but for general-purpose use, two displays are fine, with a max resolution of 4096 x 2160.

Question 5

Am I correct that this card can drive dual 4k monitors at 3840 x 2160 at 60hz with the two mini DisplayPorts 1.2 jacks (using MST)?

A thread on Tom's Hardware led me to believe this is the case as it included a link to the nVidia site that said this was possible with all GTX 600 and 700 series cards.  I'm wondering if anyone can confirm.

Thinking of grabbing two of the new 28" $700 4k monitor.

Just got all set up with this card (MSI GeForce GTX 760 ITX) and 2x Samsung 28" 4k monitors.  Works great.  Only need one card to drive both at 60hz over DisplayPort.  While I was testing the set up, I had the 2 4k monitors and 2 1600x1200 monitors (one on HDMI, one on DVI) connected all at the same time.  Worked great.  Very happy!

can u install this MSI GeForce GTX 760 GAMING ITX 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card in my hp media center pc m7160n?

I checked your motherboard and it states that there is an empty PCIe x 16 slot.  I am not sure whether this is PCIe 2.0 or PCIe 3.0.

There is a big difference considering all Kepler (GTX 600 & 700 series cards except for GTX 750) cards utilize PCIe 3.0 which has better bandwidth and data transfer compared to PCIe 2.0.

I am not positive whether or not you can install this specific card onto your motherboard, it seems you can.  Considering the card's small form factor it appears possible.  I would keep checking around forums and the web for anyone else who might have similar circumstances.  This is what I came up with and I hope it helps!

Does anyone know what direction the airflow is designed to be?  Is it mostly a rear-blower card?

Is there a water block that fits this card?

There are universal waterblocks that will work on this card, the main thing about those though is that they do not provide cooling to the VRM's so you have to get thermal pads to passively cool the vrms if you get a universal waterblock for this.

If I don't install the Gaming App, does this run on OC Mode or Gaming mode by default?

Gaming Mode is the card's default speeds (and the MSI website says so).  Mine runs at 1006/1137, but your exact speeds may be different.  OC mode seems to add two speed steps (1164), and Silent mode seems to reduce by two speed steps (1110).  Honestly just skip the Gaming App, and use MSI AfterBurner directly.

What model is your HP desktop? as long as it has a PCI Express 16x port free than YES! I own this card and play league of legends with it. amazing card @ 1080.
