What dose No ODD mean?

No ODD means no Optical Disk Drive. Basically it means that this chassis does not include a DVD drive even though it has the slot to put the disk in. (This chassis cannot read a DVD or CD or Blu-Ray).

I'm very new to the PC world and I was wondering if this would be good as a first build, but I am worried that the build quality  would  not be good because of the mixed  reviews. What would you suggest I should do?

Hi!

I have built a system before using the Nightblade. It was easy installing just the RAM, Graphics Card and Storage. If you are wondering about Build Quality, it is OK, just OK, it's not super good quality like NZXT cases but it works fine without any bending and overall feels solid (although it picks up fingerprints easily). If you want a Mini-ITX gaming build, this would be a great choice for a first build since building from scratch in a cramped Mini-ITX is quiet time-consuming. The one thing I noticed was the fan noise was unbearable during intense gaming sessions such as Battlefield 4. If you want your first build to be exciting, memorable and want more upgradability in the future, I recommend you build a mid-range or full size using NZXT's cases (I don't work for NZXT but I recommend their cases due to how easy to build and clean look they have) which are very easy and have good wire management to build with. Does this unit have a hard drive, If so, How much storage on it?

it does not come with a hard drive, it has slots available for two 2.5" laptop drives and one 3.5" desktop drive

What exactly comes inside the box? Do you have to place a motherboard and processor inside. Or memory, hard drive, dvd player? Does it come ready to work turn on and use?

This model does not have a built-in optical drive. Another model, the 012BUS, has an optical drive but costs $50 USD more. The Nightblade includes the case, the mobo (MSI Z87I-AC), and the psu (600w) only

Can I fit two SSD's 2.5" and a standard 3.5" HDD?

Yes you can. I have a single 3.5" in my personal Nightblade, but I saw that there were two slots for 2.5" drives behind the front panel of the case.

I assume the video card slot (Interface) on the motherboard supports a PCI Express 3.0 x16 card?

will the motherboard support G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-2133C11D-16GXL? i can only get 8 gigs to work. when i put 16 gigs in the computer does not boot. any suggestions?

Has anyone installed a ZALMAN CNPS8900 Quiet 110mm into this? I'm having trouble installing without it hitting the graphics card. Is the Dynatron K17 the only aftermarket fan that will fit?

Actually, the coolermaster 120m (or 120v) seidon liquid cooler fits, barely but it fits. You just have to hook it up to the vent instead of the fan bracket.

What's the clearance for aftermarket CPU coolers? Specifically, will a Hyper 212 evo fit?

there's about 115mm/4.5in from the cpu to the case, the Hyper 212 evo will not fit.

As far as I can tell, the only tower cooler that fit is the Dynatron K17 at about 110mm tall,  but it uses a 92mm fan so it won't be as effective as the hyper 212 that uses a 120mm fan.

you can also look for low profile cpu coolers
