I have a limited space hutch to deal with that I'd like a screen like this to fit under. How tall is this monitor when it is lowered to its lowest height?

At it's lowest, measuring from the bottom of the heal of the back the support legs to the top edge of the monitor it’s 20” (give or take 1/2”).  Hope this helps.   Keep in mind the monitor will work with a vesa mount so it may be possible for you to use one to eliminate the stand.  If the cabinet is going to have a strong enough back wall that could support a mount you could get close to the height to the ~16 1/2” of the monitors height.   Even if it does not have a strong enough backwall you could modify the cabinet with some sort of support.   If you are creative enough you should be able to hide anything you have to build up behind the monitor to make sure you support it.  Make sure you check to see exactly which type of mount it will work with and you can go from there!  This is the best monitor I have come across and if I could afford it I would buy two more. Can you move the monitor up and down?

Yes the monitor moves up and down vertically on the stand and is held in place with a spring mechanism by the weight of the monitor. it also tilts up and down but not side to side. you have to actually rotate the whole base to turn it left and right.
The amount it can be lifted and lowered is actually quite impressive, I don't have a tape measure on hand but at it's highest setting the bottom sits about 12 inches off the desk and at the lowest setting the bottom is about 2-3 inches off the desk

Does this monitor support 144hz through HDMI and/or Display Port cables?

Would a GTX 1070 be compatible with the G-Sync?

short answer,
 yes a gtx 1070 is compatible with g-sync.
long answer,
if memory serves me correctly this monitor has freesync, but Nvidia has started supporting g-sync with some free sync monitors. I Remember having a lot stuttering issues with this monitor using "g-sync" in the Nvidia control panel before i returned it due to blurring issues though.
Nvidia has a list and there are some posts about monitors that are not on the list if you google a bit. (Not trying to be one of those "just google it" guys, but can't link stuff here.)

Yes it does. So I'm using the latest gtx 2080 msi GPU with this screen. This screen has adaptive sync and the option to turn on gsync was present in the nvidia control panel.

Refresh rate, resolutions, Display port version

My graphics card supports 120mhz refresh rate at 2560 x 1440.

The speed required is 11.59 Gbit/s and it has a display port v1.2 which meets the transfer rate requirements.

Under specification this monitor lists display port v1.0 or maybe even v1.1 which doesn't meet 11.59 Gbit/s.

Which version of display port does it have?

Does this mean I can't get 11.59 Gbit/s that is required for my card's 120mhz @ 2560 x 1440?

Hello! Having just bought my 2nd of these monitors within 4 months, I can proudly tell you (as well as from official information from MSI's website) that it has a Display Port 1.4 port in the back in the back and fully runs up to a 144 Hz refresh rate. It even comes with a DP cable as well.

I highly recommend this monitor as I've now bought 2 of them and do not regret my decision, especially at this discounted price point. Having the sweet spot of 144hz at 2560 x 1440p with a 1ms response was the selling point for me.

If I plug in headphones, will the monitor still produce sound since it doesn't have a built in speaker?

Your headphones are the speaker,  your monitor is using the USB to act as a hub for your headphones, so it's no different than plugging them in directly to your computer.
