For a 13th gen processor, can I update the BIOS without a CPU installed? (this model does not have a BIOS flash button)

To my knowledge you can't update ANY BIOS without a CPU installed. That being said, I installed a 13th gen on this motherboard and updated the BIOS after. It's probably the first thing you want to do with any new build anyway, new BIOS, new drivers from the web site.

Does this have built in wifi or will I need to buy an adapter?

this exact model does not. you need to get the model with the same model number and it will say wi-fi
