Has the coil noise issue been solved? I'm interested in getting this card but I don't want a noisy card.

I am very sensitive to high pitched noises like coil whine, but my card has been running for months without exhibiting this issue.  This has included time with the case off and my head next to the case.

How's this card with VR?

The card works great, so far played Assetto Corsa and Project Cars 2 with no issues with VR.

can a 300 wat power supply handle this card?

If it has the 8 pin it needs I'm sure it will power on, but I would recommend at least a 450 wat for this card, always make sure to have the 8 pin power connector that it requires and try to never use adapters, hope this helps, have a good day!

Can this card go into the msi z390 -a motherboard? And can it fit in a lot of pc cases?

It should fit in any motherboard with a PCI Express x16 slot (which most any Z390 motherboard should have).

Case fit will probably not be too much of a problem.  It is not very long, but it is a bit tall.  Cases that are very slim and don't have much headroom above the PCIe slots might be a problem, but it will fit in most cases without a problem.
