Does it Work in ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3 AM3+ AMD 760G + SB710 ? i m worry cuz if the motherboard is DDR3 and the video card says DRR5,first time buying thanks a lot

It l work. the DDR3 reference on the board refers to the type of RAM sticks you have. the DDR5 on the video card is the type of memory built into the video card, and is largely irrelevant as most modern cards use DDR5 memory. Its the motherboard slot you need to worry about, which is PCI-Express. Pretty much every board since 2005 or so has at least one PCI-E slot. So, short answer: yes, itll work. Make sure your power supply meets the card requirements, though they are pretty reasonable. The 480 is a good card.

Is this card VR ready?

Yes it is my only issue is that I got a defected card, lasted a little over a month. Contacted NewEgg and was advised my 30 day warranty is up and I need to contact MSI. I'm Very unhappy as I had to pay to mail the items to MSI and it doesn't sound like they're sending a new card based off the email they sent. Its a great card but you will be left miserable if it comes defected.

I want to use this for hdcp playback--ie, blu rays with powerdvd or encrypted cable channels through with windows media center. Will this work for that type of content?

Yes.  This card is way more than you need for Blu Ray playback.

How do i crossfire with this? is there crossfire bridge needed? what else do i need? Yes my motherboard is Crossfire compatible.

yeah, um, pretty sure you don't use a cable. the mobo should recognize it automatically.  it's nvidia that requires the bridge

Will this work with a set up that isn't a AMD? For example a core i7 6700k with Asus Z170-A motherboard?

If the card isn't recognized by the computer does that mean I have a DOA card?

Most likely. I would check with a separate computer first and plug it in there or try a different pcie slot just to be sure.

Will this video card work with my gateway fx6840-03e. I bought it maybe 5-6 years ago from best buy. I upgraded the power supply to 600 watts a few years back. Some stickers on my PC indicate it's an Intel i7 860, 8 ggb ddr 3 memory, and has an ATI 5770 1024MB card in there currently. 1. Will this work? 2. Is it worth putting this card in an old machine?
