Pros: RGB lighting effects are numerous, effective and highly customizable. Key clack isn't quite as loud as Cherry Blues and the tone of the clack is noticeably different in a good way. If you are looking for a keyboard with a smaller footprint than the competition this one might fit the bill. Key presses IMHO feel good and register really well. Plus it has a 10-key which is a must for users like myself.
Cons: After having used Razer, Logitech and Corsair gaming keyboards for several years, I've gotten used to a more generously spaced key layout. I'm coming from a Razer Black Widow Ultimate keyboard and the key spacing on the MSI GK50 is definitely tighter than anything I've used recently. It may grow on me but I'd say that if you have large hands or long fingers you might want to pass on this keyboard. The other thing that is disappointing is the length of the cord. This has got to be one of the shortest USB cords I've seen on a premium keyboard.......ever.
Overall Review: My nit-picking can probably be offset by the value that the GK50 keyboard brings to the table. The USB cable is sleeved so it looks and feels premium. Since there aren't any pass-throughs for USB devices or head phones it is a single plug affair which I personally love. One reason I'm moving away from Razer is longevity. I've spent hundreds of dollars on Razer keyboards and frankly considering the money spent, the longevity hasn't been that great. I've had LED lighting go crazy or some keys quit working not long after the warranty is up. Contrast that with a couple of "un-fancy" Dell keyboards that I've had for years that probably have 1M keystrokes on them and still work to this day. At the end of the day I'd say for the money spent you should at least give it a try. The GK50 might be exactly what you are looking for at a decent and fair price.
