Pros: -Takes one SATA power and turns it into four
Cons: -Rather stiff wires (makes it hard to manipulate)
-Input power is on top
Overall Review: This adapter works well, and I see no problems with it. My only complaints are that the wires are stiff, which makes it hard to manipulate the cables into a good position, and that the input power goes on top and the split powers are meant to go down. My power supply is on the bottom, so this fact made it a little more difficult to hide the cables.
Pros: Stiff wiring semi-holds shape when bending.
All black wires blend into a black case nicely, and out of view.
Cons: As others mention, the end connector that you connect with a single SATA cable to power it is located where most of us would say is "at the top" of 4 HDDs stacked. If your PSU is at the bottom, this makes for some tricky wiring to get power at the very top of your case.
Overall Review: The SATA connection provides a very satisfying "click" and feels like it will not come loose.
Pros: Well made cable, pliable and great length for my purpose.
Cons: Connectors are upside down !
Unless you have a top mounted power supply, the "power in" plug needs to be bent backward.
Overall Review: This is all relative to your case of course, but a nice cable.
Pros: I am using a Rosewill Blackhawk Ultra case with two of these adapters. A single adapter works with skipping one HDD slot and leaves just a bit of extra cable between each drive. I staggered 2 of these which allowed me to use 8/10 bays. This product will help create a very clean cabling job.
Cons: This cable will work best with a top mounted PS. I was able to make it work with a bottom mounted PS. I ended up adjusting the spacing for the source sata power so I could use a single source cable with 2 connections.
Overall Review: Product was as described. 16 inches in total length. Connectors are just over 3 inches apart.
Unless I find I better product I will be using this in another high end build.
**Always check you power supply and HDD specifications and use proper safety before modifying your power supply cables.**
Pros: It works as advertised....
The reason I selected this splitter over the countless others was because I needed some 90* Power plugs for my enclosure,
I have a Unique case, RAIDMAX Augusta, the reasonI say it's unique is the bottom of the case (even below the PSU) has 6 hot swap bays with access doors on both sides of the case, It's a nice setup, but there's not much room cables with doors closed.
The splitters solved that problem. Now I have a little extra room in fact and closing the doors does not crimp my cables.
The wires are pliable and hold their shape which is good for cable management.
Cons: If were to be nit-picky, I would grip about no sleeves on the cables. However, the cables are black and easy to hide.
Overall Review: I purchased three of these and they all work as advertised. No complaints here. Buy with confidence!
As always, NewEgg shipped fast and secure!
Pros: It works, and it's a cable. Not much more you can say.
Cons: It doesn't sprout rainbows and didn't grant any wishes? No real cons to something that is a "it either works or it doesn't" item.
Overall Review: Like others have said, the cables are slightly stiff, but I was able to bend them enough to fit a pair of SSD's in a 3.5" bracket. Just bend things how you want before trying to plug everything in and you'll be fine.
Pros: With more SATA devices on the market and existing PS with very few SATA power cables, this cable allows you to scale faster with more devices and less clutter. This is the only one from Newegg I can find with more than 2 outputs. Two of these covers all my six SATA HDDs.
Cons: Shipping cost. Sent from the manufacturer directly, so it is a separate shipment.
Overall Review: If you want to take advantage of SATA's true hot swappable feature, using true SATA power cables instead of molex-converted ones, which lacks the 3.3V needed for such feature.
Pros: At this price I couldn't find one of any quality for less money. It makes a very big difference when you are using something on your own computer. I could buy a new car for what I have in my computer so I will only use a high quality splitter and this is it
Cons: I inspect everything I buy very closely and couldn't find one issue.
Overall Review: I added another hard drive (for a total of 7) and needed a splitter for the convenience to avoid adding another complete cable to my power supply (modular type). I have bought cables and adapters from everyone around in my 45 years of tech work and this quality at this price can't be beat.
