Hi.  Do I need to buy a data cable or can I take it out of an old pc I have lying around the house?

Accepted Answer

You can take it out of an old PC but please know that there are 3 SATA speeds based on whether you use Sata I, II, or III.  Your motherboard, cable and drive will all be rated at SATA I, II, or III so the cable should be at least as fast as the next fastest member of the trio.

Question 2

Hi.  I have a Inspiron 560 and one of the power attachments broke. The PC is the mini tower not the Inspiron 560s.  I do not understand about the female and male plugs.  The bottom line is will this work in my computer?  Thank you. deanie44

If you have an extra connector in the PC that's not broken, yes this splitter is the right one for the job.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L55W-C5259 with a SSD m.2 card and I want to install an extra SSD drive.  Is have is this the right cable to use?

If you are looking at adding the power connection to your computer, this should do it.  I needed more power connectors as my power supply didn't have enough for the three drives I wanted to hook up, and this did the trick for me.

Can I use this cable to install dual SSD hard drive into a Imac 27" 5K?

No you can't and you should not even attempt to mod the inside of your iMAC. If you want additional storage use an external drive.
