Fantastic game for 4x price. 9/3/2009 2:30:59 AM

Pros: This is a very indepth game, but at the same time isn't a life-hog like WoW or some other MMORPGs. Prophecies, Guild wars first major campaign, still has thousands and thousands of people playing it, there's never an empty area, and there's always a good group to get with. I paid $40 for it when it came out, and bought this copy for a family member. Well worth the money. GOTY Edition, also comes with high level weapons which are very useful early on in the game, when such weapons will be hard to come by/pay for.

Cons: None. Not for the price. Here on Newegg, the cost is 10$ cheaper than it is on the NCSoft site. Although, there is one thing; if you buy it online, you get a 'fire imp' to hepl your character level early on, which is also incredibly helpful. I opted out of this, simply because I can do the levelling on my own. For someone unsure of their abilities to do it though, you may consider getting it there.

Very fun and engaging game for a great price. 8/26/2009 8:46:29 PM

Pros: I've been playing this game for about a month and a half. This is a fantastic game for the money, and the fact that there isn't a monthly fee makes the deal sweeter.

The graphics are good on my mid-range laptop.

Cons: It can be hard to get groups but you can use henchmen. They aren't the best but can be a real help.

Note that this doesn't come with the 2008 upgrade which includes the fire imp. I was looking and looking for my fire imp when I entered the bonus command but found out that the 2008 upgrade is not included. You can buy it for $5 on NCSOFT's store.

Overall Review: I've been playing Diablo II for years, and was looking for something different since it is taking forever for D3 to come out. This game fills that void perfectly with its interesting storyline, graphics and strategy.

I was disappointed that the 2008 upgrade wasn't included. A leveling buddy is sometimes helpful when you're just starting out and can't find anybody to buddy with.

Finding groups can be a pain sometimes.

If it's still available, get the platinum edition. It includes the Prophecies campaign and the expansion Eye of the North for the same price.

fair to good 8/9/2009 7:24:24 AM

Pros: Big world. Pretty good graphics. No monthly subscription! Inexpensive to purchase game.

Cons: Sorry but have to compare to World of Warcraft. Exploring the map channels you to narrow trails so you follow their route. No mail so you can't send items. Sort of hard to get groups to adventure with.

Guild Wars 8/4/2009 8:46:55 PM

Pros: -An excellent game, especially for the money.
-Gives an 'MMO Feel' without the dent in your wallet. (Free to play. Forever.)
-Diablo II-esc, but with nicer graphics and less clicking.
-Low Hardware Requirements by today's standards.
-If you can't find a group, there's at least Henchmen (AIs) to group with you.

Cons: -The Game of the Year Edition only has the Original game. For the Same Price, get the Platinum Edition, which has the Eye of The North Expansion Pack. (At the time of writing... Do some research :D)
-You get what you pay for. This means less content and updates than other MMO's that you pay a monthly fee for.
-Replayability is lower in this game than other MMOs
-Unless you have friends Groups can be scarce
-Player base is more immature than other games. Public areas often contain undie dance pits.
-Henchmen (AIs) can be quite foolish.

Overall Review: -Guild Wars downloads files as you enter areas, so first time entrances can take a while, even on Cable.
-Download times are killer on Dial-Up. Some friends are unable to PvP because of it.
-Do yourself a favor and buy it in a bundle. There's little or no price difference, depending on the bundle, website, and shipping.
-Prophecies has the least character classes of any campaign, and seems the least replayable.
-As for campaigns, Prophecies has a European look and Factions an Asian one, while Nightfall has the look of Africa.

Pros: have been playing guild wars since beta'05 and have obviously loved it and still hate to see that making gw2 rather than continueing more expansions but w/e...NO GRINDING is great, very good and fun pve and pvp play, can enjoy almost everything whether you play solo or prefer playing with others, good graphics (great compared to some mmos i can think of lol), first fantasy mmorpg i was able to get into and stay into.

Cons: no more expansions :/
