Can this program makes a DVD copy?

Absolutely!  That is the main reason I bought it.  This contains Nero Burning ROM which I have been using for years to make DVD copies.  The only issue I had was trying to make an ISO out of a DVD.  But there are ways around that.

One caveat is, this is for copying DVDs you make youreself, not for DVDs you buy in the store.  Those have copy protection, and this is not made to defeat that.

Not without a good bit of equipment with the RIGHT connectors. (More specifically, your Audio/Video card needs _INPUT_ terminals.)

1st. A good bit of those old VHS (pre-recorded ones) recall had that copy-guard. In that case, you'll (likely) just copy garbly gooky looking video.

2nd - your audio card MUST have the proper inputs to "listen/view" the VHS. It has to have AT THE VERY LEAST: 1 Video _INPUT_ and 2 audio _INPUT_ terminals. (Left and Right for Stereo)

From there it shouldn't be that difficult to follow - just roll the tape and tell Nero to start copying. (Again as long as the VHS tape does NOT have copy-guard on it.)

Finally, if it's just a few tapes you want converted, it'll take a good bit of frustration out of your life taking to a place "that does that."

i  have not used this to make duplicates of any copy written programs, but it works great to create a dvd video and will covert just about any formate to make it happen

To answer your question, Yes!

Hope that works out for you! Once it's converted to MP3, you can then do just about anything you like.

Note: MAINTAIN sample rate - some software starts off with a LOW sample rate, you'll need to (at least WANT to) make sure it's of the highest value. (If I had something that came as close to vinyl sampling the music, I wouldn't care how much space it took.) Unless you're putting your tunes on a phone or MP3 player - you'll run of of space rather quickly.

(Mind you, Nero is _not_ for the faint at heart - it's a little on the confusing side at times.)

My question is: Can't you do that out of the box with your OS? Most do that, now.

Will this software allow me to play ANY commercial blu-ray disk (in my blu-ray capable drive) in my self-built HTPC?

No. You have to purchase an additional part to add in order to play Blu-ray. (yeah, it sucks!) yOu might have to buy Nero Platinum to get that feature with the software natively.

I've used Nero for years but it was 10,11,12.5 etc. What Programs are included with 2014 and last is this just for Windows or is there a Mac Version?

SW incl. are the following:  Burning ROM 2014, Media Home, Recorde 2014, Video 2014 and Nero 2014.

No mention of Mac SW incl on Package Disk.
