i don't see why not but I would check Verizon on line or call them to confirm. I am in Ecuador SA and it works fine on the DSL telephone line here. Since there I changed service providers and I am now connected to the internet through the CAT 6 connection and I get the exact service delivered I pay for! I love this router/modem and hope it works equally well for you!

Hello Dave:  Thank you for your reply, but you did not answer my question. I live in the United States, and I am a Comcast user, My question was, is this  NETGEAR unit compatible with Comcast. If you do no use Comcast or Xfinity you would have no way of knowing.

No, ADSL2+ only.

It has a gigabit "uplink" port misleadingly labelled "Cable", but it's Ethernet.

Is this compatible with Comcast service provider?

Comcast is typically a "cable" Internet provider. This is a DSL modem/router. Now if this is going to only function as a router and not a modem it should work fine. However, is you want it to also be a modem you need DSL Internet. (DSL is basically phone jack, where cable is over a coaxial cable.)

Yes, the Netgear DND3700 does have a RJ11 port.  I have used mine to replace my Frontier provide DSL modem.  It works great.

I am currently living in Ecuador and it works extremely well over the telephone line here. 
I think a quick call to your local Verizon office will assure you that it will work with their service. 
DSL is DSL worldwide as far as I know!

Will it work on a AT&T network ?

It says it works on most ISP's  however I connected mine to the telephone company called Century Link and it worked just perfect. It connects automatically with the built in wizard. Based on that AT&T is a pretty common carrier and would assume you should not have any issues with them either, as long as its their DSL and not Uverse, because their uverse has its own modem. I ma in Ecuador using in on the cat6 connection and I know it works on ADSL but I have not heard of VDSL, sorry

We have had some problems keeping our Ipads connected to this modem.  However, the Ipad 2 is a piece of shit anyway, and has known connectivity problems that Apple chose to ignore.
