The ReadyNAS Ultra Family is a series of powerful network-attached storage (NAS) with built-in media server capabilities that allow advanced home users to store, share, and protect their digital assets with confidence. The ULTRA 2 RNDU2000 is a 2-bay diskless NAS storage device designed for advanced home users who have large digital media libraries (music, photos, and videos) and require solid performance in order to run their bleeding-edge applications concurrently. It provides better performance than the award-winning ReadyNAS Duo and NV+, X-RAID2 automatic volume expansion, secure drag-and-drop remote access (ReadyNAS Remote), optional online backup and recovery service (ReadyNAS Vault), and RAID 0/1 for data protection. It will also include some new software applications from TiVo, Orb and Skifta.
High Performance PlatformFeaturing powerful but energy-efficient 1.8 GHz Intel Atom processor, 1GB DDR3 RAM, two drives bays supporting RAID 0, 1, and 1x USB 3.0 & 2x USB 2.0, the Netgear ULTRA 2 RNDU2000 can tackle the ultra heavy application with power to spare.
iSCSI Target SupportAllocate a certain capacity from your data volume to appear as a block device so that you can mount it and make it show up similar to a USB drive. This allows applications like iMovie and Outlook to work seamlessly with data residing on the ReadyNAS.
X-RAID2 TechnologyNetgear’s X-RAID2 technology can manage volume expansion automatically as you add new hard drives or replace existing drives with larger capacity drives.
ReadyNAS RemoteReadyNAS Remote is a software application that makes it easy for you to access your ReadyNAS remotely just like you are at home. ReadyNAS Remote is also available as an app in the Apple AppStore.
Local and Remote Streaming to Mobile and DLNA DevicesThe DLNA-certified ULTRA 2 allows you to access, share and enjoy music and videos from any DLNA-capable media players, mobile phones, PDAs or game consoles. Moreover, it is compatible with many software applications from TiVo, Orb and Skifta. Transcode and stream media content to mobile handhelds over Wi-Fi or 3G/4G using Orb, stream media content to remote DLNA devices using Skifta, and play back non-protected TiVo recorded content anytime.
Continuous Online and Offline Data ProtectionMultiple layers of protection are built into every ReadyNAS, including drive fault tolerance, redundant power supply, online backups (snapshots), and secure offsite replication to another ReadyNAS system. The NETGEAR ULTRA 2 also includes 2 GB of ReadyNAS Vault online backup service and 3 lifetime licenses of Memeo Premium Backup service for continuous data backups from PC and Mac.
