Pros: Small, low footprint, nice small transformer, Setup is magic. Great price.
Cons: Using a torrent app basically brings it to a grinding halt. If someone has a fix for that, msg me. Best I can do is reduce simultaneous connections to about 20 in order to still surf on other PC's.
Overall Review: Great for small home/office but not for heavy downloaders.
Pros: Great product. Does the job and looks good doing it. Haven't experienced any problems.
Netgear name and quality.
Overall Review: Looks nice.
Pros: Once she's up and running it works fine. No complaints about operation or stability, but getting to operational status is the hard part.
Cons: The setup on this thing is one heck of an ordeal. I'm what their user manual describes as an "advanced user" and I've set up home networks at my house and various lan parties, friends houses, etc before using a plethora of routers and none of my past experience helped with the setup for this thing. You basically have to go step by step through their dummy guide and use their cd for the router to work at all. It wasn't a quick or enjoyable experience and I'd rather buy a new router than go through it again if it craps out.
Overall Review: I've been a loyal Netgear owner for about 4 years now but I think my next router will be from a competitor. This one left a bad taste in my mouth.
Pros: Inexpensive. Works great.
Cons: None so far.
Overall Review: I just needed a basic router/firewall to replace my old Linksys which was constantly disconnecting me from online games/AIM and dropping the connection completely at least once a day. I've had no issues since I set up the Netgear.
Pros: For the price, this is an amazing piece of equipment. Cheap, quick, and simple.
Cons: One problem is, for those with Xbox 360s, you have a chance of this thing closing your NAT, so you have to go in and change the UNPN Advertisement periods.
Pros: Can't beat the price. So far so good. Easy setup.
Overall Review: Waiting to see if Netgear will outlast my Linksys. My Linksys router has a 3 year head start.
Pros: Works very well. Its connected to my HPM8000n Media Center PC and Xbox 360 via Verizon high speed. No dropouts, freezing, or lock ups.
Cons: Software is a little buggy. Running on a 32bit Vista Home Premium OS, it took 2 attempts to get it properly installed.
Overall Review: I wish it came in black or silver.
Pros: Easy to setup, works great!!
Cons: Slow file transfers within network. BitTorrent brings it to it's knees, get used to resetting it every day.
Overall Review: Does ANYONE make a router than can handle BitTorrent??
