Does this come with install disk?

No it does not, you have to go to netgear (dot) com/support to download drivers and software for this product. The software seems to work well though. I have bought many of these for myself and customers. Works out of box on most linux systems without extra software.

I have a HP desk top computer. Is this the correct wireless adapter? I am tech ignorant. THX

any wireless adapter should work with any PC, it is USB 2.0 and it works with or without the cable/cradle.    you must load the drivers for this unit on whatever PC it will be used on before it will work      what you should look at is the router speeds.   weather or not it is N150,N300,N450, etc. or if it is only b/g.  it wouldn't matter how far you upgrade the receiver if the router is slow.       If you have a N450 receiver and a b/g router it will only run on b/g speeds. Or if you have a b/g speed PC and an N rated router it will still only run at b/g speeds.  ultimately it will work with the PC but the connection will only be as fast as the slowest component  between the PC and router.

IS A CD included with the installation software for a XP computer?

I dont remember. I dont think so. If you can connect your laptop with another known installed wifi device, temporarily or connect by ethernet connection(wired), and connect to the internet, then you can plug in the Netgear wifi device, and Win XP will find the right drivers from the internet, and install automatically. I think you need to be running Win XP service pack 3. I just tried this myself on my old Win XP laptop and the laptop searched the "internet" or Microsoft servers and the laptop automatically installed the drivers. I didnt have to restart the computer as well.

Probably a bad inquiry, but is this product compatible with non-netgear routers? I just want to make sure before I buy this and have compatibility issues

What is the procedure for installing the Netgear WNA wireless adapter?

I ran the install software that I downloaded from the Netgear website, then part way through it asked me to plug in the USB device.  Once that was done my PCs (all Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit) build the driver and then the NetGear Genie started up.  From there I selected the secure network I wanted to connect to and entered the encrypted pass phrase and all the PCs that use the adapters connected just fine.

Yes i would like to no if this will work on a dvd player with no wireless board inside to stream movies. The dvd player as a usb on the back of it and a place to hard wire the internet but i do not want to go with the hard wire for internet?    Thank You whoever answer this Question!!!

Probably not. Most dvd player only support flash drive for the USB. Some
supports their own manufacturer wireless adapter (if you are lucky it might work if the manufacturer actually uses the same chipset as Netgear - even
that might not work as the manufacturer probably names it differently so
that it is not recognized by the dvd player unless you can hack its firmware).
I normally hack a bunch of Linksys wireless routers with software on the
web to make them into wired Ethernet to Wifi adapter
