N300 Wireless USB Mini Adapter (WNA3100M) Installation guide NETGEAR Genie installation CD
Cons: To Clarify, the NetGear techs "did not" suggest the WPS. I decided to try that after he wanted to downgrade my security & change my SSID password to something simple. (Never a good idea.) He put me on hold for a few minutes to talk to his supervisor and suggested another high profile adapter from NetGear which I repeatedly told him would not work for me. 3 or 4 cut-offs and nobody created a case or even entered notes tells me they have a culture prioritizing quick phone calls as opposed to fixing things. I have done DSL tech support & call length is a big rating factor for techs, but you have to fix things if you want to make customers happy or even keep them.
Overall Review: I am not sure that I could recommend NetGear for anybody that is not very technical already.
Cons: Device quit working after two weeks, I uninstalled program and reinstalled but it can't find the device. I tried different USB ports but still nothing.
No problems in first 6 months12/22/2013 8:58:19 AM
Pros: Unlike various other USB wireless adapters, I have not had any problems with this one. No mysterious disconnects that require disconnecting/reconnecting, no reinstallation of drivers/software, etc. It has simply done what it is supposed to do without trouble for over 6 months.
Overall Review: Mostly likely a bug in the driver but have severe lag issues when gaming. Verified this with an alternative network adapter. Current driver version 1.0.0.4. Maybe this will be fixed in the next driver version.

Does not work with Windows 86/19/2013 10:25:53 PM
Pros: Small
Cons: Installed adapter's driver updates for Windows 8 but device was not recognized even with all drivers updated, tried multiple usb ports and reinstalling all programs and drivers but still would not work.
Cons: tried for 1 hour to make it work with windows 8, downloaded all the latest drivers from netgear.com - still nothing

New Life for Old Notebook12/14/2012 10:10:16 AM
Pros: Used this adapter on an aging 54G notebook. Loaded the software, plugged in the adapter, and connected. Hooks at a high speed, maintains a high signal lock, and so far doesn't drop. Don't like more things sticking out so only use for file dumps, not surfing. Even then, this little adapter is really small. Easy bump from 54mbps to 300mbps
Cons: So far no complaints at all.
Overall Review: Getting another for the wifes little netbook for photo dumps.
Pros: Works great after tweaks
