Pros: I picked this up as a refurb to replace my non-tech sister's failed router. Set up is on par with other routers; for a simple protected Wi-fi network, it only takes a few minutes. She hasn't had to call me recently to have me help her fix it over the phone, so it must be doing alright!
Cons: I also use one of these same routers. It doesn't seem to reach the speeds I hoped, and I find that I have to power cycle mine every week or two after it just drops my internet connection. However, for the price, I can handle the inconvenience, hence the 4 stars.
Overall Review: I used to swear by Netgear products, then swore off them for a while. I'm slowly letting myself buy them again, but over the years and after trying about a dozen different routers from various brands, one thing stands out: if you want a nice, reliable router that is going to have higher speeds and longer range, shell out the extra money.
Pros: Great price No brainer setup Arrived looking like new No dropped connections (yet, anyway)
Cons: None
Overall Review: I got the first one for a friend and since he hasn't had any problems I got one for myself. I retired my old Linksys/Cisco, will keep it as an emergency backup.
Pros: Very simple, yet reliable router.
Cons: I have yet to come across a lemon, or a defect in these refurbed routers.
Overall Review: I've ordered several of these, as I use them in installs, and I have yet to have any issues that held up my production. I'm very happy with Netgear's product and recommend them.
Pros: Excellent price, since it's a refurb. It's a Netgear. Actually has a power button on it, so if you have to power cycle, you don't have to fumble around the rear of the thing trying to remove and replace the power cable. Includes WPA2.
Cons: Built-in switch is not gigabit. Not dual band (2.4GHz only). But, I knew this going in, and since I use DECT phones and have a separate 16-port gigabit switch for the LAN, it was not an issue for me. Just things to keep in mind before purchasing. Netgear does make dual-band gigabit routers, if that's what you need.
Overall Review: I have not had any of the issues I read about in the negative reviews. And there are a LOT of negative reviews, so I was very hesitant to purchase. But there were also a lot of 4 and 5-star reviews, so I went ahead and jumped in. Most of the negative reviews claim that the router fails within a few weeks. This to me indicates a progressive failure. Which, for a router, the most obvious place for such a failure to occur would be logs that are growing beyond the router's capacity. I checked my logs, and yes, every few seconds (literally) it would populate a new entry with a blocked uPNP request from the WAN. With a new entry every 3 or 4 seconds, the log was growing extremely quickly. So I disabled uPNP (no one really needs uPNP), and cleared the logs. Monitored the logs for a few minutes, and no more blocked uPNP requests from WAN. IF this is indeed the reason the router is progressively failing, this should keep the log from filling to capacity.
Pros: Still 300 bps /price /signal strength/ Remember to Download The flies below before you hook up your router Read The users manual!!!
Cons: Needs two firmware updates. Before you hook up your router. Download and save these files. Setup manual ftp://downloads.netgear.com/files/WNR2000_SM_07May08.pdf Firmware update 1.2.3.7 Save to a file where you can find it. http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/11895 Users manual. ftp://downloads.netgear.com/files/WNR2000_UM_24FEB09.pdf
Overall Review: I know how frustrating it can be when you can't connect. I read the reviews I see a lot of software conflicts. Before you hook your router know weather you have a static IP or a floating IP. A static IP you may have to release your IP and reboot your computer, or type in the IP into your router software. In most of the reviews If you will know your network settings before you set up your router it and your network adapter settings. One of the most common mistakes is the Firewall on your computer may be blocking your router shut your firewall down if you can connect it is your firewall on your computer. also alot of people make changes in there firewall or a new one and block themselves. they think it is a router malfunction but it is your fire wall settings. your adapter settings can effect your router
Pros: Wireless N, cheap cost, looks pretty.
Cons: Connectivity issues, and slow at that (connect between 108-168mpbs only). I was expecting to get a router probably with some headaches, its refurbished after all. But, I've had the router reset on its own randomly (once in the past 3 days) and have also just lost Wireless access, requiring a full reset twice in the same two days. There seems to be stretches of days its stable, and then it'll go on a fritz.
Overall Review: You get what you pay for - it's a cheap, refurbished router and the support Netgear provides is very minimal. There's only so much you can expect out of it. I needed a router fast, and only had so much in the budget. I'll definitely be replacing it in the near future with a better router.
Pros: I really like the design and its interface when setting it up. It is cosmetically appealing as well as sturdy. I turned it into a wireless access point with ease on my work's currently wired network. Excellent product.
Cons: I would have liked to see a bigger antenna on this unit. It is internal and though it may not actually effect how it works or its range, it just makes it seem like it would work better having one on the outside of the unit.
Overall Review: *pinches bridge of nose* I simply do not understand these customers who complain that there is a lack of product accessories in with the router. Mine came with some light paperwork, the unit, the power cord AND a brand new Ethernet cable. THIS IS A REFURBISHED/RECERTIFIED UNIT FOLKS! This is not going to be a retail product. Don't sit there and buy a refurbished/recertified product and then act surprised that it doesn't come with anything. Know your terminology and if you don't understand it, then read the reviews and read the information. If you still don't, call NewEgg! They have a great support staff. Don't knock a good product because you didn't feel like paying attention.

Pros: Very similar (maybe identical?) to ON Networks N300 model and that means it should be very good for the price.
Cons: Has standard 10/100 LAN speed, but lacks the faster 10/100/1000 Gigabit speed for moving data around on your home network. If you usually have 2 (or at most 3) users sharing the available bandwidth it should be fine, but heavy users might be better served with a Gigabit router.
Overall Review: Compare this to ON Networks N300 which is new not refurbished and includes a full 1-year warranty.
